THE SABIANS & ISLAM

Muhammad's followers have been taught that Muhammad's religion somehow has something to do with the old covenant law. This even though after the Hijra, Muhammad switched the Qibla, or direction in which his followers were to pray, from Jerusalem to the Quraish pagan's Kaaba in Mecca. He even switched his "Holy Day" from the Sabbath, to Friday, after the Hijra. So it should be painfully obvious, that Muslims do not keep the "law" when they don't even keep the Sabbath, but rather follow Muhammad's stand-alone "law".

Some Muslims even try to suggest that their daily religious routine is rooted in scripture through such giant leaps, as to suggest that because there is an instance in the Gospel of Jesus prostrating Himself, that it somehow means that Yahweh's people are supposed to prostrate ourselves toward the Quraish's black stone idol in the Kaaba in Mecca five times a day. The reason that Jews and Christians don't prostrate ourselves in prayer is, of course, because there is no such ordinance in scripture that instructs us to. Indeed Christians are instructed to...

1Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Which describes continuous contact in relationship with God, by way of His Spirit in us, as directly opposed to monotonous empty ritual. Indeed, we are also instructed specifically how NOT to pray.

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Which aptly describes Muhammad's Salat.

Nor are there ordinances that instruct Yahweh's people to perform ablution before prayer.
If one of Muhammad's followers so much as passes gas after performing ablution, Muhammad's "Allah" will not hear his prayer, unless and until he performs the ablution all over again.

Nor is there an ordinance for Jews and Christians to travel to a location in the SW Arabian desert, located 1200 kilometers away from THE Holy Land of the patriarchs and prophets where Yahweh had His people build His temple, to engage in thinly repackaged Quraish pagan rituals around the Quraish's black stone idol in their Kaaba.
Let alone to wear long white robes while doing so.

The historical and Islamic records do confirm that the Quraish pagans engaged in tawaf, or circumambulation of the Kaaba seven times, in Arabian moon, sun and star worship. They also performed the Saee of Al-Safa and Al-Marwah in Arabian jinn-demon worship. Their rituals at Arafa and Mina, casting stones, sacrificing animals and much more, were thinly repackaged by Muhammad, and are still practiced by his followers today.

One doesn't really have to dwell on the true origins of Islamic rituals, since there is no historical or archaeological evidence that suggests that Mecca ever existed before the 4th century AD, or it's Kaaba before the early 5th century, when immigrants from Yemen built it. Please see the videos on the "History of Mecca" and "Abraham, Hagar, Paran and Ishmael" by clicking on the video annotation links at the end of this video.

Nor is there an ordinance for Jews or Christians to fast for 30 days, beginning with the sighting of a crescent moon, which is why we don't.

So where did Muhammad come up with Islamic routines? Muhammad claimed he got the instructions regarding praying five times a day when he rode on a flying animal from Mecca, to Jerusalem, to "paradise" and back to Mecca one night. But then he also claimed to have entered and prayed in a temple in Jerusalem on that trip, that history tells us had been torn down over 500 years prior to his claim. Not surprisingly there were no witnesses of Muhammad's fanciful flying steed.

However, four of Muhammad's relatives did found a local sect, of the 2nd century monotheistic occult cult of the Sabians, that they named "Ahnaf". Indeed, Muhammad mentions Sabians right along side Christians and Jews in the Quran. Muhammad became so deeply involved in this 2nd century occult cult, that the locals sometimes referred to him simply as "the Sabian".

First-language-Arabic speaking Dr. Rafat Amari, included original source material, in his 20 year full-time study of Islam and Arabia. According to his paper "Ramadan and it's Roots"...

"The Sabians, who were pagans in the Middle East, were identified with two groups, the Mandaeans and the Harranians."

"Ibn al-Nadim wrote in his book, al-Fahrisit, about various religious sects in the Middle East. He says in the month in which the Harranians fasted for thirty days, they honored the god Sin, which is the moon. Al-Nadim described the feasts they celebrated and the sacrifices they presented to the moon.[iv][4]"

So it would seem no coincidence that Ramadan begins with the observation of a crescent moon. Regarding "feasts" it's interesting to note that some online Muslims confess that Muslims spend more money on food during the month that they "fast", than any other month of the year, because they feast on fancier than normal fare before dawn and after sunset.

Dr. Amari continues...

"Another historian, Ibn Abi Zinad also speaks about the Harranians, saying that they fast for thirty days, they look toward Yemen when they fast, and they pray five times a day.[v][5]   We know that Muslims also pray five times a day. Harranian fasting is also similar to that of Ramadan in Islam in the fact that they fast from before the sun rises until the sunset, just as the Muslims do during the days of Ramadan.[vi][6] Still another historian, Ibn al-Juzi,  described the Harranian fasting during this month. He said they concluded their fasting by sacrificing animals and presenting alms to the poor.[vii][7]  We also find these things in Islamic fasting today."

"The pagan Arabians in the pre-Islamic Jahiliyah period fasted in the same way Muslims fasted, as originally directed by Mohammed. Pagan Arabian fasting included abstinence from food, water, and sexual contact – the same as practiced by Islam."

So the Sabians...

1. prayed five times a day
2. performed ablution
3. prostrated while praying
4. fasted for 30 days in observance of the moon
5. wore long white robes

In "Occultism in the Family of Mohammad" Dr. Amari wrote...

"Khadijah, the first wife of Mohammed, came from a family of prominent occult leaders.  Among them we mentioned Ruchieh, a Kahineh of Jinn-devils at Mecca. Ruchieh was the sister of Waraqa bin Naufal,[xxvii][27] the Ebionite occult priest who was the cousin of Khadijah. Waraqa, was a leading figure in the Ahnaf. He used to make Tahnuf, which meant he spent time in the caves of Harra', separating himself from the rest of society for months at a time. (Such practices were common among heretics, as we learn from the early Christian fathers. [xxviii][28]), and were known among leaders of occult sects.  Khadijah used to make Tahnuf at the same caves.

Waraqa was the one who convinced Mohammed to be a prophet. After returning home from the cave of Harra', where he often went, Mohammed was frightened. He told his wife that a spirit claiming to be Gabriel appeared to him and choked him three times. Mohammed was convinced after this encounter that he had a devil inside him. But Khadijah insisted that Mohammed become a prophet of Allah. It's interesting to note that when angels appeared in the Bible, they never threatened anyone or imposed the prophetic role upon him.

Khadijah was married to Nabash Bin Zarareh Bin Wakdan, a visionary for the Jinn, before she met Mohammed. The Jinn appeared to Nabash in the form of an old man to give him information[xxix][29]. Abu Baker was his most important disciple of Nabash. Abu Baker remained a close friend of Khadijah,  eager to obey her when she declared Mohammed was the prophet, instead of her former husband.  As a wife of a visionary of Jinn, this gave Khadijah some prestige, because many Arabians consulted Jinn visionaries, and gave them money. This also explains why Khadijah was wealthy. She had caravans which brought goods from Syria to Mecca. After Nabash died, she employed Mohammed in her caravans, then married him, although Mohammed was twenty years younger than she.

After the negative experiences which depressed Mohammed, Khadijah sent him to her cousin, Waraqa, to convince him that Mohammed was called to be a prophet of Allah. Waraqa succeeded in his task and became responsible for most of the Qur'anic verses at the beginning. Waraqa inserted Ebionite doctrines about Jesus in the Qur'an, stating that Jesus was a prophet, and that He was not crucified, but God made someone to resemble Jesus. That one was crucified because the crowd thought he was Jesus. This doctrine was first initiated by Simon, the magician from Samaria, who later founded a heresy which took his name, Simonianism. In reality, Simon created the root for such doctrine, before it was developed by the Gnostics in later times."

Dr. Amari's paper "Occultism in the Family of Muhammad", from which these quotes were lifted, is available at the second link on this video, and "Ramadan and it's Roots" at the third.

So which is more likely? That Muhammad picked up the rituals that his followers engage in from conversing with Adam, Moses, Abraham and others while riding around on a flying animal one night, or that he simply lifted them from the 2nd century occult cult of the Sabians, which he had been deeply involved in by way of his four relatives?

What seems to have been increasingly revealed here in regard to Muhammad's followers?

Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, [are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these [are] not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Considering Muhammad's encounter with the spirit in that cave in Harra', it should come as no surprise that Muhammad declared the EXACT OPPOSITE of the WHOLE SUBJECT of the Gospel which is the crucifixion, death and resurrection of the Messiah, to save all from sin who have faith in the shed blood, of the Lamb of God. The Old Testament as well as Jesus Himself, prophesied His crucifixion, death and resurrection

Matthew 20:17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, 18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, 19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify [him]: and the third day he shall rise again.

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Surah 4:157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

The exact opposite - in addition to the overwhelming historical and archaeological evidence against Islam, as well as geographical absurdity regarding Abraham suggested by Islamic so-called "tradition" that is a work of pure fiction created in the 7th and 8th centuries, that masquerades as thousands of years of pre-Muhammad history, penned without reference to historical record from before the 6th century AD. Yet some of Muhammad's followers will still continue to reject the Gospel of the Messiah, to follow Muhammad, because of the spirit within them.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Sura 19:88 They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!" 89 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!

1 John 2:22  Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:

Because of that spirit of antichrist.

Make no mistake, ONE MUST CHOOSE, between the 1600 year record of Yahweh to mankind as revealed through all of his prophets and witnesses, that His people have followed through two covenants, for 3500 years.

Or the EXACT OPPOSITE of the WHOLE SUBJECT of the Gospel through Muhammad and his self-serving alter-ego "Allah", through his stand-alone, heavily abrogated, 23 year, 7th century record.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Even today, history - and otherwise - ignorant people like Dr. Zakir Naik (a self-described disciple of Ahmed Deedat), mention the 2nd century occult cult of the Sabians, right alongside Christians and Jews, just like his false prophet Muhammad did.

Here's a Muslim video that while trying to divorce Islam from moon worship actually does a pretty good job of marrying Islam to it!

THE ORIGINAL SOURCES OF THE QUR'AN
CHAPTER III
http://www.answering-islam.org/Books/Tisdall/Sources/chap3.htm

Our knowledge of the Sabians is slight, but sufficient for our purpose. An early Arabic writer, Abu ‘Isa'l Maghribi, is quoted by Abu'l Fida as giving the following account of them. "The Syrians are the most ancient of nations, and Adam and his sons spoke their language. Their religious community is that of the Sabians, and they relate that they received their religion from Seth and Idris (Enoch). They have a book which they ascribe to Seth, and they style it ‘The Book of Seth.’ In it good ethical precepts are recorded, such as enjoin truth-speaking and courage and giving protection to the stranger and such like: and evil practices are mentioned and command given to abstain from them. The Sabians had certain religious rites, among which are seven fixed times of prayer, five of which correspond with that of the Muslims. The sixth is the prayer at dawn, and the seventh a prayer, the time for which is at the end of the sixth hour of the night. Their prayer, like that of Muslims, is one which requires real earnestness and that the worshiper should not let his attention wander to anything else when offering it. They prayed over the dead without either bowing down or prostration, and fasted thirty days; and if the month of the new moon were a short one, then they kept the fast for twenty-nine days. In connexion with their fast they observed the festivals of Fitr" (breaking the fast at the end of the month) "and Hilal" (new moon), "in such a way that the festival of Fitr occurred when the sun entered Aries. And they used to fast from the fourth quarter of the night until the setting of the disk of the sun. And they had festivals at the time of the descending of the five planets to the mansions of their dignity. The five planets are Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. And they used to honour the House of Mecca" (the Ka'bah)1.

From this account we see clearly that the Muslims have borrowed from this obscure sect not a few of their religious practices all of which they believe were taught them by Muhammad at the command of God through the Angel Gabriel. For example, the Ramadan fast of the Muslims lasts2 a month, from sunrise to sunset, though the rule as to the exact moment when each day begins and ends is, as we shall see3, derived from the Jews. In Persia and some other countries a gun is fired at dawn and sunset to announce the beginning and end of each day's fast during the holy month. The Fitr feast at the end of the month is still celebrated by the Muhammadans. They have, as is well known, five stated times of prayer each day, but they have also two other times each day at which prayer is optional, thus having exactly the same number as the Sabians had. Bowing down (raku) and prostration (sujud) are enjoined in Muhammadan worship, but not during the prayers offered at burials. Finally we have seen that the Muslims still most highly honour the Ka'bah. Of course it is possible that all these practices were common to the Quraish tribe as well as to the Sabians. Some of them certainly were; but, if all had been, it would be difficult to account for the observations made by the Arabic writer whom we have quoted. The supposition that many of these religious customs were borrowed by Muhammad from the Sabians, and that their religion in general (owing perhaps in a measure to its supposed antiquity) had great influence on Islam at its foundation is confirmed by the fact that, when the Banu Jadhimah of Taif and Mecca announced to Khalid their conversion to Muhammadanism, they did so by crying out, "We have become Sabians."

The Sabians are supposed to have been a semi-Christian sect. Others have identified them with the Mandaeans, whose religion represents a strange medley of Gnosticism and ancient Babylonian heathenism, but has nevertheless borrowed certain elements from Magism, Judaism, and Christianity, though largely anti-Christian as a system. The Mandaeans derive their name from Manda, the most important of the Emanations or Aeons in whom they believe. He is said in their sacred book, the Sidra Rabba, to have manifested himself in a series of incarnations, the first three of which were Abel, Seth, and Enoch, and the last John the Baptist. The latter conferred baptism on Jesus Messiah, who finally returned to the Kingdom of Light after a seeming crucifixion. This latter idea is repeated in the Qur'an (Surah IV., An Nisa, 159) and will require notice later4.

Our very limited knowledge of the Sabians and the doubt whether the Mandaeans can be identified with them renders it impossible to say whether their influence on Islam has or has not been still more important and extensive5.
