doctrine of historicism universally declares the pope, papacy or Roman Church as "The" "Antichrist", "beast" and the "man of sin".

It's certainly no surprise that the church of the Middle Ages would try to shoehorn the pope in as a figure of "The" "Antichrist" considering the papal torture and slaughter of so many non, and former, Roman Church Christians.
