Question for Futurists
« on: April 04, 2008, 06:38:13 PM »
I've got a question for futurists.

We know that God doesn't dwell in temples made with hands:
Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Indeed we know that Jesus already rebuilt the temple:
John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

And of course our bodies are the temple of God:
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

So how could any future "man of sin" desolate a "future" rebuilt temple, when it would already be desolate by God's own design since we know he doesn't live in temples made with mens hands?

How could the "man of sin" be considered this abomination except by John Nelson Darby's mid-19th century futurist doctrine, since he "sitteth" in the "temple of God", and Matthew and Mark's abomination of desolation "stands" in the Holy Place. Plus Matthew and Mark instruct that it is as spoken of by Daniel the prophet, not Paul.
