U.S. Intervention in Syria - Risk VS Reward

Obama, Boehner, McCain and Lindsey Graham's peeps:

Risks of Obama taking action in Syria - against the wishes of the vast majority of the American people:

1. Since China and Russia back Assad there is a risk of precipitating WWIII, or perhaps another proxy war with Russia and China, like Vietnam.
(While that would not be a reason to shy away from a moral cause, this one is obviously not one, since the spiritual condition and atrocity capability of both sides, is virtually indistinguishable. If we were interested in human rights and just causes we would be fighting for the Christians that are being slaughtered, and churches burned, by Muslims in Nigeria.

Or picking up the cause of the survivors of the 2 million innocents slain in the Sudan.)

2. Innocent people in Syria being killed as collateral damage in U.S. air strike.

3. Worst of all innocent folks in Israel, that have nothing at all to do with Obama's attack, undergoing attack by Iran because of our intervention - as promised by Iran.

4. Does anybody really believe that we can get to the chemical weapons from 30,000 feet in the air, or will that require boots on the ground?

Reward

1. Obama and his brother succeed in the Islamic conquest of Syria, and implementation of Sharia law via the Muslim Brotherhood. Death penalty for "apostasy" under the law, slaughter of Christians, and female circumcision for all little girls all around! Hooray!
“Obama’s brother is one of the architects of investment for the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Having the country run by nice Muslims like the one that cut the heart out of one of Assad's soldiers and ate it!

Having the country ruled as in the newly Islamic areas of Nigeria:

Or other Sharia law ruled countries where a woman is required to have 4 witnesses to even make an allegation of rape.

Regarding what's going on in Syria, and what has gone on in the other countries that were run by totalitarian regimes, that formerly enjoyed at least a modicum of stability with at least minimal human rights afforded, if governments in general were just supposed to sit down and ignore uprisings, then wouldn't it follow that the future leaders of the U.S. would be the thugs from south central LA or some other ghetto in the U.S.?

Islamic countries can only be ruled by iron-fisted totalitarian regimes, because freedom, liberty and the right to self-determination have always been the very antithesis of Islam. So the only question that remains, which kind of totalitarian regime is preferable?

A totalitarian regime that allows some limited freedoms to its people, as those dictators and oppressive regimes, that maintained some semblance of order and afforded minimal human rights?

Or a sharia law ruled oppressive regime that imposes the death penalty by law for "apostasy", circumcises little girls, and murders Christians and burns churches, while eventually subjugating all citizens to denying the Son of God, disbelieving His crucifixion, death and resurrection, and thus rejecting His shed blood, as articles of faith in the false prophet Muhammad alone.

Is a sharia law ruled Islamic slave state preferable:

would benefit greatly from Western airstrikes in Syria."

In other words, two boys await execution by the animals that Obama is arming, toward eventual rule over Syria.

Obama, Boehner, McCain and Lindsay Graham's peeps in action:

"Syrian Rebels Attack Christian Village, Behead Priests

Rebels have attacked a Christian village in the war torn country of Syria, beheading priests and brutally killing others. Not surprisingly, the rebels have ties to al Qaeda.

Quote
The rebels launched the assault on the ancient Christian village of Maaloula _ which is on a UNESCO list of tentative world heritage sites _ on Wednesday after an al-Nusra fighter blew himself up at a regime checkpoint at the entrance to the mountain village. The village, about 40 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Damascus, is home to about 2,000 residents, some of whom still speak a version of Aramaic, the ancient language of biblical times believed to have been spoken by Jesus.

Heavy clashes between President Bashar Assad's troops and Nusra Front fighters persisted in surrounding mountains Thursday, according to the Observatory, which collects information from a network of anti-regime activists.

Speaking by phone from a convent in the village, a nun told The Associated Press that the rebels left a mountaintop hotel Thursday after capturing it a day earlier. The nun said the frightened residents expect the Islamic militants to return to the Safir hotel and resume shelling of the community below.

"It's their home now," the nun said. She spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.

Al Qaeda led rebel force groups have also reportedly vowed to continue their attacks on Christians as soon as the United States "liberates" the country from it's President Bashir al-Assad.

Yesterday Republican Senator John McCain inserted an amendment into a resolution approving military force in Syria with a goal of shifting the power on the battle field from the Assad regime and to rebel forces.

Meanwhile in Egypt, Coptic Christians continue to be slaughtered and nearly 100 churches have been burned to the ground.

President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry haven't commented on the brutality against Christians in Syria and have done very little to protect Christians living in Egypt from violence being waged by the Muslim Brotherhood. "

"Al-Qaeda Vows to Slaughter Christians After U.S. ‘Liberates’ Syria
By Raymond Ibrahim on September 4, 2013 in Muslim Persecution of Christians

While U.S. leaders continue pushing for war against the Syrian government, today “Al-Qaeda-linked rebels,” reports AP, “launched an assault on a regime-held Christian mountain village in the densely populated west of Syria and new clashes erupted near the capital, Damascus, on Wednesday…  In the attack on the village of Maaloula, rebels commandeered a mountaintop hotel and nearby caves and shelled the community below, said a nun, speaking by phone from a convent in the village. She spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.”

So now to help Obama run and hide, we are expected to depend on our enemy Putin - who sold the chemical weapons to his buddy Assad - to be responsible for collecting these weapons from Assad? Am I missing something here?

Although Putin may temporarily stop the US from going ahead with an attack on Syria, he surely has ulterior motives. I had to smile just a little bit when he trumped Obama, but I also would like to find out what his real motives are. It is no good, either way it goes.

I don't know how I missed your post Mike, but I think Russian motives absurdly remain, an interest in controlling the world. Certainly suffered a set back by Ronald Reagan having pointed out the buffoonery of their communist system, and how their citizens suffered as a result. But the way things are going in the U.S. we are rapidly joining them in Marxism.
