During a discussion with fellow atheist and not-so-former Muslim, Cenk Uygur, Sam Harris made the claim: "there is no truly central message" in Bible.

Come on Sam, didn't you ever read it?

Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark 12.28  And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?    29  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:   30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.   31  And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Sam's ignorant statement was made around the 45 minute mark.

The two fellow atheists dithering on to waste 3 hours of each others time (let alone mine), with nods toward each others self-indoctrination into the faith of atheism, and no expressed understanding whatsoever as to what a Christian is, as to be expected:

1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

What Sam seems to fail to understand, is that the unfair treatment he has received at the hands of the digital media, is a lesson in the absence of accountability and moral relativism of the very Godless society he desires and champions. It is simply the product of the law of the jungle, and survival of the fittest, in an atmosphere that is without moral absolutes.

Needless to say their exchange did not include a comparative analysis of the religious texts. Nor the central message of the Bible as expressed in the verses above. Even as they both demonstrate abject ignorance to such things as Islam's doctrine of abrogation in the Quran, without differentiating between the Quran calling Muslims to violence against non-Muslims throughout 1400 years and unto this very day, and the love of God expressed in the New Testament with the violence of the Old Testament scriptures constituting nothing beyond historical record of specific historical events and specifically not a call to open-ended violence against others. Apparently unfamiliar with the - also Old Testament - commandments. Let alone that they are both on the typical conveniently delusional atheist page of describing Hitler as a Christian.

As Don Richardson reports in "Secrets of the Koran", "By Muhammad's day, 1,500 years had passed since any Hebrew prophet was described in the Old Testament as using a sword in the service of God. Neither Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Micah, Amos, Malachi nor any other later Hebrew prophet is described as using the sword or prescribing its use."

Sam, you are welcome to log in, and support your claim that "there is no truly central message" in the Bible, by means other than dithering on with empty words. You seem like a generally nice and perhaps reasonable guy that would be interesting to become engaged with. You won't have to deal with the incapacity for reason, evasion, flat out casual lying, mischaracterization and general buffoonery you were confronted with in your chat with Cenk Uygur, who wishes away the Gospel by pretending there is some sort of an equivalence between the true Christianity of the Bible and the true Islam of the Quran. Who judges the scriptures according to the deeds of men, rather than judging the deeds of men, according to their respective scriptures.

As you and we agree, the Islamic State is composed of orthodox Muslims, that do what Muhammad did and commanded his followers to do. Indeed has an Islamic scholar as its head. However by even entertaining such as Muhammad's early Mecca based "no compulsion in religion" drivel, you and Cenk Uygur expressed abject ignorance to the doctrine of abrogation, or substitution in the Quran, that allows for later suras that call for violence against others to abrogate Muhammad's earlier more peaceful Mecca drivel.

You can also log in to help us understand how a secular society like Pol Pot's, or the Soviet Union, or one composed of the digital journalists that mischaractize and lie about you, would be a better alternative to a Christian society in which folks would expect to be held accountable by God to love their neighbor as themselves.

We agree regarding what is expected of orthodox Muslims. It's just such a shame that you seem to only be able to see the evil half of the spiritual picture.

Even as the followers are Jesus Christ do as the central message of the Bible has commanded us to do for nearly 2,000 years:
