While Wikipedia is certainly not a definitive source it can sometimes provide some useful information. Generally when someone makes a claim, others police it, and require them to provide evidence to support their claim.
Why can we suppose it is, that this Wikipedia article on "Ancient Towns in Saudi Arabia", does not mention Mecca?
