Why it is important to pray before turning to the Holy Scriptures

Many books have been written. All pertaining to be about that which we claim to know.

Next time you go in to a Christian bookshop, look around you. There are many books.
Some are good, while others are not so good. The opinions of men and women. We are influenced by the thoughts of men and women. Some are indoctrinated from early childhood. We come to accept without question. We come to assume. That assumption can keep us in darkness, while we may not realise it. That assumption we can pass on to others.

God is real. God is Holy. Who is there that can teach us? Ahha. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of truth can be our guide. It is true.

So set aside special times for the Holy Spirit to be the instructor - it becomes an invite for God to show us - to affirm us, and to keep us away from private interpretation.  The Holy Bible is no ordinary book - to be read willy nilly. Invite the Holy Spirit to allow the scriptures to leap from the pages. Do it with deep desire to know God's truth. Only God's truth is good enough. Let Go. Let God. be instructed by the Light. Not the darkness.

Invite the Holy spirit to instruct and to affirm whenever turning to the Holy Scriptures. The Truth may well be far greater than you currently know. A wondrous joy.

Christ in you the hope of glory.
