FALSE PROPHETS & CULTS

Yahweh warned His people about false prophets and teachers from early on in His revelation to us, and again, in the Gospel. To save time I'll let viewers read some of the following verses for yourselves.

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

There were false prophets and teachers as early as the first century trying to advance heresies like Gnosticism.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

We are also warned that false teachers may appear to be innocent.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

That's why God's people are charged with the responsibility to:

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Which we can accomplish through the Word of God. During the first century Christians were warned about an even more specific "time" to "come" at some time to come in the future.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Perhaps on schedule, the 19th century in particular, heralded many false teachers and false prophets whose doctrines endure unto this day.

Some of these teachers harkened to "familiar spirits" and even to apparitions that appeared as shimmering "angels". That's why we are instructed, as to what to request a spirit confess, if one is revealed to us.

1John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

There is good reason we are to "try the spirits":

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

One way to tell if a group is conspicuously a cult, is to do a Google search of the name or "ism" of the organization or sect, and include the term "recovery" after it. Here you will find candid discussion of false doctrines, from the perspective of those who have overcome them, and how these "doctrines of demons" have broken folks and families. Try another search with the term "cult" after it.

Let's also explore a group outside the "church", line by line, according to the definition of the term "cult".

cult
1. a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers
3. the object of such devotion.
4. a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5. Sociology . a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
6. a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
7. the members of such a religion or sect.

It's 1400 years too late to "try the spirit", that Muhammad felt tried to squeeze the life out him three times, in that cave.

So then is it a surprise to find that their doctrine is provably false, not only through a purely secular view of it's 7th and 8th century created historical fiction that is exposed in the light of history, to the absence of archaeological confirmation of that fictional "history", as well as the preposterous geographical suggestions of that - what can only be labeled - "tradition".

However it's even more obvious from a Christian perspective since the false prophet Muhammad declared the exact opposite of the whole subject of the Gospel. Just as Muhammad was the exact opposite of Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Sura 19:88 They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!" 89 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!

Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Surah 4:157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

1John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Surah 9.29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. 30 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!

Muhammad even ordering up his alter-ego "Allah's curse" on Jews and Christians as if invoking some kind of a voodoo incantation.

1 John 2:22  Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

You would think that would be enough to cause even a staunch atheist to ponder the odds of, about 1/4 of mankind claiming to ascribe to the Quran, and an additional 1/3 - of mankind claiming to ascribe to the Gospel, when they are such perfectly polar opposites.

To my Christian brethren, did it ever strike you as peculiar that the 20th century eschatology that you have been indoctrinated to believe, necessarily precludes even considering, that Muhammad could be the false prophet of the book of Revelation? Please click on the second link in the video drop-down menu.

Even worse, does your doctrine compel you to side with Muhammad's followers, in their animus against Jews and Israel, as it did some church leaders who actually met with Hezbollah while their "church" divested of Isralei assets? Can you even begin to see, that if you are under the authority of men like those, you need desperately to get out of there NOW? I recommend visiting ptmin.org to begin your rehab.

Since 20th century pop-eschatology blinded the "church" to THE false prophet Muhammad, is it a surprise that particularly the western "church" has done such a miserable job of helping those so sorely deceived by the false prophet Muhammad, overcome his 7th century invention while coming to know the love of the one true God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Please visit the second link in the drop-down menu to begin to explore what happened to the church. If you are reluctant to, what does that tell you about the eschatology, that you have been fed?

There is a lot of additional material in the text version of this video, at the Islam-Christian Forum, at the first link in the video drop-down menu labeled "Discussion".

Jesus IS truth. So can we expect to best serve Him by running and hiding from truth? By not even considering that which doesn't happen to agree with what we have been indoctrinated to believe?

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

To quote Ellis Skolfield, an elder in the ecclesia who has written about the role of Islam in bible prophecy for over 30 years:

"God is truth, so how well a person serves the Lord is not dependent on how artfully he can defend his doctrines, but on his willingness to seek out and follow the truth."

Brother Skolfield's book "The False Prophet" is available free, in several languages, at the 3rd link in the drop-down menu. What have you got to loose by reading a chapter or two?

The rituals of different sects of the Sabians varied

Their rituals included prostration that I didn't mention in the video.

"DAILY PRAYERS

    *
Sabians had daily prayers with units, bowing down and prostration (Islam has adopted this practice). They prayed three times daily; before sunrise, at noon, and at the sunset. These were obligatory (Islam in the beginning had same number of daily prayers but later on the number was increased to five times daily). There were three more that were not obligatory but thought of as proper to perform: At the second hour of the day; at the ninth hour of the day; and at the third hour of the night.
    *
Sabians started their daily prayers by expressing their intent-resolve to pray (Islam has adopted it).
    *
The prayer at the funeral is without bowing down and prostration (Islam has adopted it intact).
    *
Ablution before the prayers was necessary in the Sabian faith (Islam has adopted it).
    *
Sabians had the 'call' to prayer (Islam has adopted it).
    *
Sabians turned towards a certain direction during their prayers: Sabians of Irak turned to the constellation of Capricorn. Sabians of our time kept this practice (Islam has adopted this practice by establishing supposedly Al-Kuds - Yerushalim - as the direction to turn to in the beginning. But the real k?bla was Bakka-Bekke-Behe).
    *
I have written earlier that Sabians needed canonical purification of the body before each prayer (In other words, an ablution; the general word for cleanliness-purification is called taharot in Judaism and taharat in Islam). Therefore, following a sexual union, bodily cleaning is necessary. Sabians were obliged to immerse themselves fully in the flowing water to get this bodily cleaning. Urinating, passing bowels, breaking wind, touching a woman in her period, touching a woman in the forty-day period following the childbirth, touching a foreigner, and the bleeding of the nose necessitated ablution (accept touching a foreigner Islam has adopted these conditions).
    *
According to the Mandaean branch of this belief system, prayers - seven times daily - were made compulsory to Adam, and this practice continued until John the Baptist (Yahya) changed it to three times daily."

RAMADAN AND ITS ROOTS

By Dr. Rafat Amari

Ramadan has Pagan Roots in India and the Middle East

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the rigid observance of thirty days of fasting during the daylight hours, has pagan roots developed in India and the Middle East. The observance of fasting to honor the moon, and ending the fast when the moon’s crescent appears, was practiced with the rituals of the Eastern worshippers of the moon. Both Ibn al-Nadim and the Shahrastani tell us about  al-Jandrikinieh, an Indian sect which began to fast when the moon disappeared and ended the fast with a great feast when the crescent reappeared[1].

The Sabians, who were pagans in the Middle East, were identified with two groups, the Mandaeans and the Harranians. The Mandaeans lived in Iraq during the 2nd century A.D. As they continue to do today, they worshipped multiple gods, or “light personalities.” Their gods were classified under four categories:  â€œfirst life,”  â€œsecond life,” “third life” and “fourth life.”  Old gods belong to the “first life” category. They summoned deities who, in turn, created “second life” deities, and so forth.

The other group, considered as Sabians, were the Harranians. They worshipped Sin, the moon, as their main deity, but they also worshipped planets and other deities. The Sabians were in contact with Ahnaf, an Arabian group which Mohammed joined before claiming to be a prophet. Ahnaf sought knowledge by going to Northern Iraq, where there were many communities of Mandaeans. They also went to the city of Harran in the al-Jazirah district in northern Syria on the border between Syria, Iraq and Asia Minor.

In Mecca, the Ahnaf were called Sabians because of the doctrines they embraced. Later, when Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, he was called a Sabian by the inhabitants of Mecca because they saw him performing many Sabian rites which included praying five times a day; performing several movements in prayer that were identical with the Mandaeans and the Harranians; and making ablution, or ceremonial washing, before each prayer. In the Qur'an, Mohammed called the Sabians “people of the book” like the Jews and Christians.

Ramadan was a pagan ceremony practiced by the Sabians, whether they were Harranians or Sabians. From the writings of Abu Zanad, an Arabic writer from Iraq who lived around 747 A.D., we conclude that at least one Mandaean community located in northern Iraq observed Ramadan[ii][2].

Ramadan was Originally an Annual Ritual Performed at the City of Harran. Similarities Between the Ramadan of Harran and the Islamic Ramadan.

Although the fasting of Ramadan was practiced in pre-Islamic times by the pagans of Jahiliyah, it was introduced to Arabia by the Harranians. Harran was a city on the border between Syria and Iraq, very close to Asia Minor which, today, is Turkey. Their main deity was the moon, and in the worship of the moon, they conducted a major fast which lasted thirty days. It began the eighth of March and usually finished the eighth of April. Arabic historians, such as Ibn Hazm, identify this fast with Ramadan.[iii][3]

Ibn al-Nadim wrote in his book, al-Fahrisit, about various religious sects in the Middle East. He says in the month in which the Harranians fasted for thirty days, they honored the god Sin, which is the moon. Al-Nadim described the feasts they celebrated and the sacrifices they presented to the moon.[iv][4] Another historian, Ibn Abi Zinad also speaks about the Harranians, saying that they fast for thirty days, they look toward Yemen when they fast, and they pray five times a day.[v][5]   We know that Muslims also pray five times a day. Harranian fasting is also similar to that of Ramadan in Islam in the fact that they fast from before the sun rises until the sunset, just as the Muslims do during the days of Ramadan.[vi][6] Still another historian, Ibn al-Juzi,  described the Harranian fasting during this month. He said they concluded their fasting by sacrificing animals and presenting alms to the poor.[vii][7]  We also find these things in Islamic fasting today.

Mythological roots concerning Harran’s celebration of the moon explained the disappearance of the moon after it joined with the star cluster, Pleiades, in the constellation of Taurus. It occurred during the third week of March. The people prayed to the moon, pleading for its return to the city of Harran, but the moon refused to return. This is thought to be the explanation for why they fasted during this month. The moon did not promise to return to Harran, but it did promise to return to Deyr Kadi, a sanctuary near one of the gates of Harran. So after this month, the worshippers of Sin, the moon, went to Deyr Kadi to celebrate and to welcome the return of the moon.[viii][8]  According to Ibn al-Nadim, the historian mentioned earlier, the Harranians called the feast al-Feter عيد الفطر  , the same name by which the feast of Ramadan is named[ix][9].

In addition to the feast during Ramadan, the Harranians had five prayers which they repeated day and night. Each had to be preceded by ablutions, which were ceremonial washings.[10]  The same system of five prayers each day, preceded by ablutions, was embraced by Mohammed.

The fasting of Ramadan spread from Harran into Arabia. This may have occurred after the occupation of Nabonidus, the Babylonian king, to the north of Arabia, around the year 552 B.C., during his sojourn in the city of Teima. Nabonidus was from the city of Harran. He was a fanatic worshipper of the moon, Sin, and his mother was a priest of Sin. He disagreed with the priests of Babylonia who considered the god, Marduk, as the chief of the gods of Babylonia. Nabonidus was eager to spread the worship of Sin, the moon, as the main deity. So he left his son in charge of Babylonia and went to live in Teima in North Arabia.

In pre-Islamic times, Ramadan became a pagan Arabian ritual and was practiced by the pagan Arabians with the same features and characteristics as the Islamic Ramadan.

Ramadan was known and practiced by the pagan Arabians before Islam. Al-Masudi says that Ramadan received its name because of the warm weather during that month.[xi][11]

The pagan Arabians in the pre-Islamic Jahiliyah period fasted in the same way Muslims fasted, as originally directed by Mohammed. Pagan Arabian fasting included abstinence from food, water, and sexual contact – the same as practiced by Islam. Their fasting also was done in silence. There was to be no talking, not even for a short period of time such as one day, or a longer period of time of a week or more.[xii][12]  The Qur’an points to the same kind of fasting when, in Surah 19, it describes God instructing the Virgin Mary to say that she vowed to fast before God, which also meant she couldn't’t speak to anyone[xiii][13]. The Arabian practice of keeping silent during the fast noticeably influenced the customs of the Qur’an. We are told that Abu Baker approached a woman among the pagan worshippers in Medina. He found her fasting, included abstinence from speaking.[xiv][14]  Fasting was a serious matter for the Arabians, enforced with laws requiring severe penalties for failing to abstain from talking. Ramadan in Islam is a continuation of this kind of fasting.

Mohammed imposed on his followers many religious rituals from the two tribes of Medina who backed him in subduing the Arabians to Islam. Among such rituals was Ramadan.

It seems that Ramadan was practiced in many cities in North Arabia where Nabonidus, the Harranian king of Babylonia, ruled. One of the cities he occupied was Yathrib, which later became al-Medina. Mohammed imposed Ramadan fasting, as well as the ritual of praying toward Mecca instead of Jerusalem, after he emigrated to al-Medina, whose Arabian tribes used to pray toward Mecca, just as it seems they used to fast during Ramadan.[xv][15]  Mohammed adjusted his ceremonies to fit the religious rituals and customs of Oas and Khazraj, the two tribes from al-Medina who backed Mohammed in his wars against the Arabians. One of their ceremonies was a weekly religious feast each Friday. Mohammed made this day the religious day of Islam.

Muslims Can't Gain the Favor of God by Practicing Religious Ceremonies Such as Ramadan.

Ramadan is not true fasting, because the participants still eat their meals during the night. Since the ritual allows them to eat while it is dark, they simply eat a large meal in the late evening and wake up early in the morning for another big meal. In other words, they simply change the time of their meals from daylight to darkness.

The hypocrisy continues during Ramadan in the kind of meals they eat. Rather than simple meals which they have during the year, they arrange for elaborate meals, spending sometimes triple or more money on food during Ramadan than in any other month. In reality, it’s not true fasting, but an excuse for eating extra in the month they claim to be fasting.

Fellowship with God is not based upon arduous or deceptive religious practices. Neither is fellowship with God granted through religious practices. A criminal who is required to appear before a court to receive justice doesn’t gain the judge’s favor by practicing religious rituals. Being religious doesn’t annul the criminal act he committed. In the same way, as a sinner, man doesn’t obtain the favor of God by doing religious rituals or by fasting.  He can’t avoid the justice of God and the condemnation that awaits him because of his sins. A Holy God refuses to have fellowship with sinners, even though they perform many religious practices.

However, God has provided salvation to mankind when He sent His Son in human flesh to die on a cruel cross in order to pay the penalty demanded for sin. The only way for a person to have fellowship with God is to believe in the redemptive work of Christ. In so doing, the repentant sinner finds that his sins will be removed, and the righteousness of Christ will be imputed to him. Then the Spirit of God is given to him so that he can fellowship with God spiritually, and for eternity.

After years of frustration from trying to offer a glimpse at the traditional continuous historic view, to an eschatologically blind church, I finally took the gloves off. I uploaded the video of this thread. Then sent the following to all of my "contacts"
___________________________

I believe this is the first broadcast PM I've sent to all my channel contacts in well over 3 years, but after trying to subtly bring this message to my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus I have gotten a little frustrated, so I finally decided to pull out the stops. In one of my recent videos (attached) I said

"To my Christian brethren, did it ever strike you as peculiar that the 20th century eschatology that YOU have been indoctrinated to believe, NECESSARILY PRECLUDES even considering, that Muhammad could be the false prophet of the book of Revelation?"

How could I could ask such a question, without singling out a denomination, or even a so-called "non-denominational" denomination? Please let me know if your church doesn't preclude the possibility.

I don't claim to have a franchise on interpretation, of the figurative language of dreams and visions in prophecy, but why is it that nobody logs into the forum to defend the eschatology they have been taught? Does truth matter?
If you don't want to view the video please at least click on the 2nd link below or at least please, please, click on the 3rd link in the menu of the attached video, for a challenging free book "The False Prophet" that's also fun to read.

It is a brick by brick empirical argument, and since it involves an entire context, just as preterism and futurism are complete contexts, it needs to be considered independently on the merit of that entire - and I might add traditional - context, without trying to wring it through the filter of the eschatology that you have been taught as you read.

May the Good Lord richly bless you and lead us all in all truth, and don't be shy, please join us in the forum.

Isn't it surprising that I could ask such a broad question without even having to single out a denomination or cult?
When I sent the video to all my contacts (over 200) I received only a few responses, and the following was one of them.
