Who is THE false prophet of the book of Revelation?
« on: March 03, 2011, 06:05:11 AM »
This is the most interesting question one can ask of a futurist or preterist.

Who is THE false prophet of the book of Revelation?

This is a good way to cut to the chase considering the fact that 1.5 billion people in the world - 1/4 of mankind - following the false prophet Muhammad.
I believe it can quickly convict futurists and preterists in regard to their pop-eschatologies.

Next most important question to ask a futurist is "Where is the 'temple of God'."

To ask of a preterist "How were the 'times of the Gentiles' fulfilled in Jerusalem in 70 AD when the Romans killed another 750,000 Jews about 6o years later?

Here's a futurist who suggested that the Old Testament calls for spiritual revival of Egypt in what would seem exegesis of scripture through the evening news and proof-texting scripture.

Since I am not that well studied or versed on the historical circumstances relating to Old Testament passages I rely on conservative scholars to help me out in these regards.
I replied regarding the passage that the videographer pulled from context...

I replied on the YouTube and in PM with the following...

3-1-11

Having woefully little knowledge of the history behind the Old Testament, I generally begin a study by turning to Halley's Bible Handbook, a pretty conservative resource. On your Egypt in prophecy video I posted

From Halley's Bible Handbook:

"Permeation of Egypt and Assyria with the Religion of Judah (18-25). After the Captivity many Jews remained in the Euphrates valley, and great numbers of them settled in Egypt. Alexandria, second city of the world in Jesus' day, was predominantly a Jewish city. There the Septuagint translation of the Old Testament was made. At Heliopolis, city of "the sun," a temple, modeled after that in Jerusalem, was erected (149 B.C.), as a center of worship for Eguptian Jews. At the time of Christ's appearance the Hebrew nation was composed of three main sections, with connecting highways (23): Palestinian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian: making Israel to be a sort of three-fold nation (24). These regions were among the first to accept Christianity. Thus this chapter is a very accurate pre-charting of one phase of Israel's history for the following six hundred years."

Isn't that a wonderfully fulfilled passage?
If you want a great, easy, and fun FREE read, on how Islam fits in bible prophecy as the final foe of Yahweh's people, please read "The False Prophet" by Ellis Skolfield. For over 30 years he has written about Islam in bible prophecy.

PS

By the way, it's hard for me to see any of Satan's Islamic kingdoms changing

Revelation 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

I believe the reason his Islamic empire "beast" is described as "a leopard" is...

Jer 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? [then] may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

While individual Muslims are coming to Christ by the millions, I don't think the same will happen to Satan's kingdoms.

Hello brotherjw, thank you for the replies. Yes, i had read about the jewish activities in Egypt. The reason, though, i believe Isaiah 19 is still future is because it is completely non-jewish/christian in essence. It is specifically talking about the Egyptians and not about the jewish or christian communities/movements in Egpyt. Also, there has to be an oppresion of such that the Egyptian nation (people) will cry out to Jehovah.

I absolutely agree with you that Islam will never ever convert as it is so anti-biblical and thus anti-God that it would be impossible to. I believe the "prince" of Isaiah 19 will rescue them FROM Islam, i.e. destroy the Islamic regime in charge.

God bless

So who do you believe THE false prophet mentioned in the book of Revelation is?

well, i believe that when this guy comes with incredible, astonishing supernatural powers telling everybody to accept and follow the Anti-Christ; he'll be the false prophet

[[[[well, i believe that when this guy comes with incredible, astonishing supernatural powers telling everybody to accept and follow the Anti-Christ; he'll be the false prophet]]]]]

So then a guy that 1.5 billion people - that is 1/4 of mankind - follow today, who are required to deny that Jesus is the Son of God as the most important fundamental of his religion, and who must deny the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the blood that would save them - a guy that was perhaps the most consummate terrorist in the history of mankind, that inspired a reign of terror that stretched from the SW Arabian desert up into France and Austria during the first Islamic Jihad, and is responsible for over 16,000 deadly Islamic terrorist attacks around the world just since 9-11, isn't even a candidate eigh?

Doesn't it ever give you pause to wonder why that can't even consider the antichrist false prophet Muhammad as a candidate with 1.5 billion antichrists in the world today in Islam alone?

I believe that Mohammad is AN anti-christ, same as Buddah is an anti-christ, same as many other spiritual leaders past and present. And definitly consider ALL of them false prophets. But i consider THE anti-christ and THE false prophet as two individuals who are yet to appear. I consider their attributes (described in the apocalypse) of having supernatural powers to be literal, that we will literally see them make fire descend from the sky and other great signs. However, when the antichrist and false prophet make their move to destroy Israel, I do believe their greatest and most powerful weapon will be Islam and the teachings of Mohammad. I see islam as Satan's masterpiece because of everything you mentioned. It has created millions of followers disposing them with hatred for Israel and the West at the very core. So i imagine Muslims as Anti-christ's direct army who will be more than happy to obey orders of attacking Israel.

In that sense, i can only imagine Anti-christ and radical muslims as having a unique and special relationship. I can't imagine that they aren't going to be working very closely together.

I was deceived by John Nelson Darby's 19th century futurist eschatology for a time too.

[[[[[ I consider their attributes (described in the apocalypse) of having supernatural powers to be literal, that we will literally see them make fire descend from the sky and other great signs.]]]]]

Fire has descended from the sky since before men used catapults to do it, let alone desert storm.
http://beholdthebeast.com/leopard_bear_lion_beast.htm#two_horned_beast

Do you also believe a literal scarlet beast with 7 heads and 10 horns will visit the earth?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nspBMGBp7mM

I'm familiar with the futurist version of a literal what they mistakenly believe to be a "hermeneutic". It goes like this. Everything in scripture is literal unless it doesn't fit Darby's doctrine, then it's figurative and can be translated any way one wants without regard to the way scripture defines it.

[[[[However, when the antichrist and false prophet make their move to destroy Israel, I do believe their greatest and most powerful weapon will be Islam and the teachings of Mohammad.]]]]

Did you consider what you wrote? Somehow Islam and the teachings of Mohammed are going to come against Israel, yet Mohammed can't be THE false prophet. So are the 1.5 billion Muslims going to convert to the teachings of yet another false prophet, and within the span of 3-1/2 to 7 years?

[[[[ I see islam as Satan's masterpiece because of everything you mentioned.]]]]

And it is only Darby's 19th century doctrinal invention that you hold that has your eyes scaled over as to the fact that Muhammad IS THE false prophet of the book of Revelation.

[[[[[It has created millions of followers disposing them with hatred for Israel and the West at the very core.]]]]]

Yes. For 1400 years and counting. The very antitheses of Christianity, freedom, human rights and self-determination. Here's a 1 minute course on Islam.

[[[[[So i imagine Muslims as Anti-christ's direct army who will be more than happy to obey orders of attacking Israel.]]]]

They are AND HAVE BEEN.

[[[[In that sense, i can only imagine Anti-christ and radical muslims ........]]]]

There is no such thing as a radical Muslim. There are true Muslims, that is fundamentalists that GET Islam and do everything in their power to behave just as their prophet did, and there are apostates that have been fooled into believing that Islam was ever, or is now, a religion of peace. There are also liars practicing taqiyyah that do what they can to put a deceptive peaceful face on the religion of perhaps the most consummate terrorist and greatest reprobate of all time.

They are THEM my friend. I moved this reply over to my PeteWaldo channel because there are more resources geared to Christians on this channel and I could tag it with the video that I just uploaded this morning.

The truth will set you free, my friend, and it will set you on fire for our precious Lord and Savior Yeshua.

May God bless you too bro.
In order to understand Muhammad in prophecy you need to consider the traditional continuous-historic context completely on it's own merit, and not try to shoehorn it into futurist or preterist contexts.
A quick and fun read on the subject is "The False Prophet" by Ellis Skolfield. For over 30 years he has written about Islam as the end-time foe of God's people in prophecy.
Available free here. Try a chapter.
