Islam's Conundrum
« on: May 08, 2009, 09:47:36 AM »
PDF of this subject for sharing with others: http://petewaldo.com/m19.pdf
HTML page: http://petewaldo.com/mohammeds_conundrum.htm

Mohammed recited:

Surah 4:157  That THEY SAID (in boast), "WE KILLED CHRIST JESUS the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- BUT THEY KILLED HIM NOT, NOR CRUCIFIED HIM, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, FOR OF A SURETY THEY KILLED HIM NOT:-

That SINGLE VERSE REJECTS ALL the prophets and apostles, and the WHOLE SUBJECT of the New Testament, which is the new covenant, that was prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Mohammed even admits to the event, but spins it as though the hundreds, or more likely thousands, of eye witnesses somehow didn't actually see what they saw.
That Mary didn't recognize her own Son. Who found such a convincing body double?

Indeed Christians and Jews share our confidence in the textual integrity of the Old Testament, that began to be recorded 2 thousand years before Mohammed was ever born. Consider the Hebrew scholar's scribal methodology: http://islamchristianforum.com/index.php?topic=97.0

And now the conundrum. While Mohammed denies the Jesus Crucifixion he also requests:

Sura 5:47 Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel.

And then fiercely suggests:

Sura 5:68 Say: "O People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord." It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith.

Therein lies the conundrum. If the bible had been corrupted BEFORE Mohammed, and one is supposed to buy Mohammed's opposite version of the crucifixion, how could Mohammed's "Allah" then make such foolish statements in the same 7th CENTURY?

Now either the 23 year, 7th century record, of THE SINGLE PROPHET Mohammed's recitations, is in absolute error, or the 1600 year record of God to mankind through ALL the prophets and apostles in is in absolute error.
Might be productive to also bear in mind that Mohammed's record was collected and stored in the minds of men.
Ever play the parlor game where you sit in a circle and someone whispers a story in the next guy's ear and he passes it on? What happens in less than an hour's time?

ALL CHRISTIANS and ALL BIBLE VERSIONS for the last 200 years hold that Jesus died on the cross. That is the WHOLE SUBJECT of Christianity. Crucifixion, death and resurrection of the Lamb without spot whom was sent to bring salvation to all mankind through His shed blood.
There is also lots of secular historians of the time, that at least recorded Jesus death, on the cross.

The only way that Muslims can suggest that Mohammed's book can trump ALL the prophets and apostles is to suggest that ALL CHRISTIANS AND BIBLES, and the secular historical record, were somehow changed AFTER THE 7TH CENTURY. An utterly ridiculous notion.

If you hold this notion, at what point in history would you venture that this switch occurred? When was the bible changed and when did Christians suddenly switch from believing Jesus didn't die on the Cross to not believing?

If you are a Mohammedan this should make it apparent that ..... you're screwed if you don't repent.
