Excellent site, with tons of versions, that are particularly handy when a heterodox (delusional peace desiring "hypocrite") Muslim tries to make the claim that you are quoting from a bad translation:

Understanding the chronological order of the Quran is important since we can more clearly see Mohammed's recitations change from his earlier more peaceful ones, to his later violent ones after he began to spread Islam with the sword calling Muslims to slaughter non-muslims, as they have done for the last 1400 years.

Sura 8.67 It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

It is also important to understand, that when sorting out the many contradictions in the Quran, the later violent suras abrogate any pretense of peace one may find in the earlier suras.

This "submitters" site agrees with the chronological order but the wikiislam site could have lifted it from their site:
http://www.masjidtucson.org/quran/miracle/revelationorder.html
They also offer an example of the hodgepodge within individual suras themselves.

"Not only was the order of revelations of the suras (chapters) different than their order in the Quran, but also the majority of the suras were not revealed as a complete unit at once. For example, the first revelation was Sura 96, Verses 1-4, the second revelation was part of Sura 68." etc. etc.

If someone disputes the chronological order presented in these sites, please post the order they found, on this thread.

"The Quran is not in chronological order, but arranged roughly longest surah (chapter) to the shortest.
The following lists the chronological (or revelational) order of revelation of the Quran."

What abou the bible :

No book of ancient times has come down to us exactly as it left the hands of its author--all have been in some way altered. The materialconditions under which a book was spread before the invention of printing (1440), the little care of the copyists, correctors, and glossators for the text, so different from the desire of accuracy exhibited today, explain sufficiently the divergences we find between various manuscripts of the same work. To these causes may be added, in regard to the Scriptures, exegetical difficulties and dogmatical controversies. To exempt the scared writings from ordinary conditions a very special providence would have been necessary, and it has not been the will of God to exercise this providence. More than 150,000 different readings have been found in the older witnesses to the text of the New Testament--which in itself is a proof that Scriptures are not the only, nor the principal, means of revelation. In the concrete order of the present economy God had only to prevent any such alteration of the sacred texts as would put the Church in the moral necessity of announcing with certainty as the word of God what in reality was only a human utterance. Let us say, however, from the start, that the substantial tenor of the sacred text has not been altered, not withstanding the uncertainty which hangs over some more or less long and more or less important historical or dogmatical passages. Moreover--and this is very important--these alterations are not irremediable; we can at least very often, by studying the variants of the texts, eliminate the defective readings and thus re-establish the primitive text. This is the object oftextual criticis
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten

And there is none like unto Him

Perhaps you missed this part of your post. In other words we can have confindence that we know what was originally written using textual critiques. There is no ancient document in human history that has more attestation than the NT. There are over 5000 manuscripts that go back to the first three centuries in a score of languages. These texts all tell the same story we now have in our modern versions.

Now address the huge problems with the Koran. Like the fact that by Uthman's own addmission parts of the koran were left out and later the whole thing revised after 4 different versions had popped up including whole chapters that is not now found in the text.
Doth that man love his Lord who would be willing to see Jesus wearing a crown of thorns, while for himself he craves a chaplet of laurel? Shall Jesus ascend to his throne by the cross, and do we expect to be carried there on the shoulders of applauding crowds? Charles H. Spurgeon

By your own admission then the koran was modified.

I applaud your amazing ability to miss the point of the post. I never said that variants did not occur from the old manuscripts. What I said was that none of those variances challenge Christian doctrine. As the vast majority are spelling errors and the use of proper nouns as opposed to pronouns. None of those variances change any of our beliefs. And as I told you the art of textual criticism assures us that our Bible came down doctrinally intact.

about doctrine i will speak abou that later .

bible isn't word of god :

This Is A Huge Mistake ., What You've Said Is Not Corners, This Is The DIRECTIONS.
Corners Meaning (The Position At Which Two Lines, Surfaces, Or Edges Meet And Form An Angle)
This Is The Definition Of Corners And It Means That The
Bible's Writer Didn't Know That The Earth Has A Sphere Shape And
Of Course This Is Against The Sience Which Mean That The Bible Is Not The Word Of GOD

Isa 40:22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

The people inspired to write the Bible were well aware that the earth was round. Furthermore what I said is that the four corners of the earth is a turn of phrase that is still used today to mean ALL OVER THE WORLD. If you want to talk about the scientific innacuracies of books lets look at the koran and hadiths.

Tabari I:236 "When the sun rises upon its chariot from one of those springs it is accompanied by 360 angels with outspread wings.... When Allah wishes to test the sun and the moon, showing His servants a sign and thereby getting them to obey, the sun tumbles from the chariot and falls into the deep end of that ocean. When Allah wants to increase the significance of the sign and frighten His servants severely, all of the sun falls and nothing of it remains in the chariot. That is a total eclipse of the sun. It is a misfortune for the sun." Scientific ignorance and pagan influence.

Qur'an 18:83 "They ask you about Dhu'l-Qarnain [Alexander the Great]. Say, 'I will cite something of his story. We gave him authority in the land and means of accomplishing his goals. So he followed a path until he reached the setting place of the sun. He saw that it set in black, muddy, hot water. Near it he found people."

What I said is that most the variants in the text are SPELLING ERRORS. The variants do not change the meaning of the verses and hence the doctrines. And by your own admission the koran underwent its' own modification. This fact is attested by Aisha and Uthman.
