While Muslims are said to be hostile to communism, it would seem Muhammad sure wasn't. Zakat is money confiscated from Muslims to be redistributed to other Muslims.
The man further said, "I ask you by Allah. Has Allah ordered you to take Zakat (obligatory charity) from our rich people and distribute it amongst our poor people?" The Prophet replied, "By Allah, yes." (Book #3, Hadith #63)

The U.S. conversion to a Marxist welfare state through imposition of the income tax almost a century ago should give it a five star rating when it comes to levying the burden of "obligatory charity" on it's citizens!
