The "Chrislam" Movement
« on: December 03, 2010, 09:25:38 AM »
This emailed to me by a forum brother. As if things weren't bad enough in the apostate ecumenical movement, when only a single verse in the Quran is necessary to understand that Islam is the EXACT OPPOSITE of the Gospel. All of the Muslims trying to pretend they have something to do with the God of the Bible, while apostates that call themselves Christians join them in the spirit of antichrist. Little surprise it is rooted in the Presbyterian church who also boycotted Israel while it's leaders met with Hamas.

THE "CHRISLAM" MOVEMENT in the APOSTATE CHURCH
-by Bill Wilson.

During the weekend of November 13, many Christian churches
across the United States began a series of sermons aimed at
bringing about reconciliation between Muslims and Christians.
These misguided Presbyterian ministers are trying to focus on a
relationship between the Holy Bible and the Koran they call
"Chrislam." They are saying that because the Koran mentions
Jesus that there is common ground with Christianity. To prove their
point, they are placing Korans along side the Holy Bible in their
pews. And they are teaching that you can be a follower of Christ
without necessarily believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God, who died for our sins offering the gift of eternal salvation.

Writes commentator Paul Williams:

"The Chrislam movement has gained impetus by statements from
President George W. Bush and that Christians, Jews, and
Muslims all worship the same God and by Rick Warren's
reference to Isa (the Muslim name for Jesus) in his prayer at the
inauguration of President Barack Obama."

Williams points out that Jesus in the Koran is not the
only-begotten Son of God nor the Messiah. Williams says,

"He is rather viewed as a prophet who was appointed by Allah to
prepare mankind for the coming of Mohammad." In the Koran,
Williams reminds readers, "The victim at Calvary, Islam teaches,
was either Simon of Cyrene or Judas Iscariot."

The Koran states in Sura 5:17, "In blasphemy indeed are those
that say that God is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath
the least power against God, if His will were to destroy Christ the
son of Mary, his mother, and all every-one that is on the earth?
For to God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth,
and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For God
hath power over all things." The Koran has many verses that
command the followers of allah to kill Christians and Jews if they
do not convert to Islam. There is absolutely no common ground
between the Holy Scriptures and the Koran when these are the
mandates of the prophet Mohammed, who wrote the Koran.

Jesus said in John 14:6,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me."

This is the central doctrine of Christianity. There is instruction by
the Holy Scriptures to not fellowship with those who do not
recognize the truth in this doctrine. 2nd John verses 9-11 say,

"Whoseover transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ,
hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath
both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring
not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him
God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his
evil deeds."

Thus are those deceivers who believe in common ground with Islam.

QURAN IN THE PEWS

JESUS IN THE QURAN

By

Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.

This weekend, the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston along with Christian communities in Atlanta, Seattle, and Detroit will initiate a series of sermons that have been designed to produce an ecumenical reconciliation between Christianity and Islam.

In addition to the sermons, the Sunday school lessons will center on the inspired teachings of the Prophet Mohammad.

Qurans will be placed in the pews next to the Bibles.

The concept of Chrislam, now embraced by such preachers as Rick Warren and Robert Schuller, appears to have emerged from a program on the meaning of “love your neighbor” at Grace Fellowship Church in Atlanta, Georgia

“In 2001, like most Americans, we were pretty awakened to the true Islamic presence in the world and in the United States,” says Jon Stallsmith, the outreach minister at Grace Fellowship. “Jesus says we should love our neighbors. We can’t do that without having a relationship with them.”

Stallsmith maintains that a rapprochement between Muslims and Christians can be achieved by the fact that Jesus is mentioned twenty-five times in the Quran.

The Chrislam movement has gained impetus by statements from President George W. Bush and that Christians, Jews, and Muslims all worship the same God and by Rick Warren’s reference to Isa (the Muslim name for Jesus) in his prayer at the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

Only 30 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Muslims, according to a Pew Forum poll. At the same time, more than half the country says they know “not very much” or “nothing at all” about the Islamic faith.

“The recent political developments and the fact that we’re fighting two wars in Muslim countries should sharpen that need to know how to talk to these guys,” Stallsmith insists “We want to find peace, reconciliation around a scriptural understanding of Jesus.”

Jesus in the Quran is neither the only-begotten Son of God nor the Messiah who was divinely appointed to restore the House of David. He is rather viewed as a prophet who was appointed by Allah to prepare mankind for the coming of Mohammad.

In the Quran, Jesus neither suffers nor dies on the cross but is rather raised alive into heaven:

“That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of God”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- Nay, God raised him up unto the himself; and God is Exalted in Power, Wise” (4: 157-158)

The victim at Calvary, Islam teaches, was either Simon of Cyrene or Judas Iscariot.

The Quran mentions that Jesus was born of the virgin Maryam – - not by an immaculate conception but rather the will of Allah and that He performed miracles to show the Jewish people that He was a maseh in the manner of Moses and Ibrahim (Abraham):

“In blasphemy indeed are those that say that God is Christ the son of Mary. Say: “Who then hath the least power against God, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every – one that is on the earth? For to God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For God hath power over all things” (5:17).

Belief in the divinity of Jesus is condemned in Islam as shirk (filth).

Following is the church response to articles as that pasted immediately above.

It's important to note that because of the partial preterist doctrine held by most Presbyterian churches, the Presbyterian Church divested in Israeli assets (Israel happens to be the 20th largest consumer of U.S. made goods) and leaders from the Presbyterian Church met with Hezbollah.

Dear Friends,

It is apparent that untruthful and slanderous information is circulating on websites and blogs about MDPC and its ministries. The authors of these sites accuse MDPC of (1) preaching a sermon series trying to bring about ecumenical reconciliation between Christianity and Islam, (2) offering Sunday School classes in which we teach the writings of Mohammed, and (3) placing copies of the Quran next to our pew Bibles.

These allegations are absolutely untrue and slanderous. The authors of these sites have been notified, and have been asked repeatedly to discontinue posting these lies. They have refused. Instead of seeking to determine the truth and facts, they continue to defend their deceitful slander.

We believe this situation stems from MDPC hosting a seminar, several months ago now, called Jesus in the Quran. Some have wrongly interpreted this as MDPC trying to reconcile Christianity and Islam. The truth is, the JIQ seminar seeks to equip people to reach out to Muslims with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our sole purpose in hosting it was evangelistic in nature. We hoped people would be better equipped to have redemptive conversations with Muslims, and help them open their hearts to Jesus Christ.

For the record, MDPC has not preached a sermon series trying to bring about ecumenical reconciliation between Christianity and Islam. Likewise, we have not offered Sunday School classes in which we teach the writings of Mohammed. Furthermore, we have not placed copies of the Quran next to our pew Bibles. These accusations are fundamentally untrue.

We invite you to visit us in person and see for yourself, or explore this site to listen to our sermons and Bible studies, and examine our beliefs and values. You will find that we are a church that preaches and teaches the centrality of Jesus Christ as God's sole means for reconciling humanity to Himself. Please examine the facts and do not believe what other people are saying in ignorance.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration in this matter.

Pulpit pals: Christians, Jews, Muslims plan shared worship

excerpt

The June 26 initiative, called “Faith Shared: Uniting in Prayer and Understanding,” is co-sponsored by the Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First. Leaders of the two Washington-based groups said the event hopes to demonstrate respect for Islam in the wake of Quran burnings in recent months.

“As a Christian minister who is a pastor in a local congregation, it is important to me for our nation and our world to know that not all Christians promote hate, attack religions different from their own and seek to desecrate the scripture of others,” the Rev. Welton Gaddy, president of the Interfaith Alliance, said Tuesday.

More than 50 churches in 26 states already have committed to the initiative, including the Washington National Cathedral.

"Pope invites stronger bonds between Islam and Christianity"

My comment "pending approval".

"Religion rejects all forms of violence and totalitarianism..." Does Islam?
Surah 9.29 Fight those who believe not in Allah ... (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Sura 8:12 I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them
Sura 9.111 ... they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in ... the Qur'an..."

Sadly, the pope, much like the sorely deluded Muslims, seems to suffer under the delusion that simply because he is willing to say something, will make it magically come true.

American Churches To Embrace Chrislam On June 26, 2011

inShare6

American churches to deny Jesus Christ on June 26, 2011

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

NTEB has reported extensively on the growing Chrislam movement. Chrislam, started in part by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church’s embrace of the joining of Christianity and Islam, has grown dramatically and now has infected many hundreds of churches and denominations all across America. A new group called Faith Shared is now spearheading the move to merge Christianity with Islam, and in the process provoking the very judgment of God down upon us as a nation. (NOTE: Rick Warren is not affiliated as far as we know with Faith Shared)
The following is taken directly from the Faith Shared website:

Light and darkness cannot be mixed

“Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event.

Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key.

We will also provide suggestions on how to incorporate this program into your regular worship services. And we will assist local congregations in their media and communications efforts.

While there is a strong preference for all of the events to happen on the same day, a number of congregations held interfaith services in January and February giving us wonderful examples of how communities can come together in support and fellowship. We will be posting photos, sample programs and audio files from theses services.

Faith Shared will collect images and videos from these events to use in our efforts to spread this message of respect and understanding from America.

Tensions around Islam in America have erupted throughout the country in the past year, leading to misconceptions, distrust and in some cases violence. News stories on the rising tide of anti-Muslim bigotry and violence abound, with graphic and often searing images of the antagonists, the protagonists and the battlegrounds where they meet. All too often, media coverage simplistically pits Muslims against would-be Qur’an burners, neglecting any substantive representation of where the majority of Americans actually stand: a shared commitment to tolerance and freedom. We are committed to ensuring that the storyline changes dramatically in 2011 by helping to create an environment of mutual understanding and respect for each other’s faith traditions.” source – Faith Shared

However I agree with you regarding possible reference to an individual later on, as pointed out through the translator helper words added, to this verse. I believe that "him" could be Muhammad.

Quote
I use the KJV and it doesn't have [ONE] in brackets.

I use the KJV too, but you can even see the [ONE] in biased Greek/English interlinears like Westcott and Hort.

Quote
Talk about redundant. The [ONE] isn't even neccessary since 2Thess.4 says............Who opposeth and exalteth himself...............so that he as God sittith in the temple

Folks try to make a similar argument for the "beast" of Revelation 13 because it mentions "his", but Daniel assigns the masculine gender to his kingdom "beasts": Dan 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth [were of] iron, and his nails [of] brass; [which] devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

Even though the Holy Spirit is referenced as a "he", we still recognize it as Jesus in Spirit, and not a single, carnal, physical man that stands next to each of us. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

So if we require ourselves to take a carnal understanding that 2 Thessalonians can only refer to a single physical man, then we have little choice but to expect it to be Judas physically resurrected in the flesh, since the only other reference to "son of perdition" in scripture is to Judas. Now neither you nor I would suggest that, but might we both agree that it could be something more akin to Satan's spirit in a man as he was in Judas, causing him to betray Jesus?

Like those ECUSA bishops that are seated in the temple of God (the one Jesus built it in three days) voted to ordain a homosexual as bishop? Playing the role of God through their own misguided judgment, while exulting themselves above everything that is called God. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

What does the word say about overseers/bishops? 1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

So we can see it would not be unreasonable to suggest that in order to qualify as an overseer/bishop, a person should be married with children, which makes perfect sense since he is to: 1Pe 5:3 Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

What about the guys that you cite in the Chrislam movement that are bringing antichrist Imams into their churches, not to preach Christ crucified to them, but to try to marry Islamic denial of Christ crucified, with the whole subject of the Word of God, which is Christ crucified? According to the article at the link that appears on your link: "Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an....."
"We will also provide suggestions on how to incorporate this program into your regular worship services....."
Readings from Satan's "messenger" THE false prophet Muhammad to be presented to the flock.
http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=5441

I would suggest that one of the reasons the "church" has gone so far astray is specifically because a near unanimity of the church believes either; that this passage either refers to the 1st century and it is all over and done with, or is a man that is to sit in a future rebuilt temple in some future someday after Christians have all been taken from the earth. Blinding the flock to even considering looking for "that man of sin" right here among us in the temple of God.

Even inviting unclean spirits and demons into the temple of God, without ever attempting to "try the spirits", as instructed in the Word.
