"Growing Hezbollah Presence in Southwest U.S.
Hezbollah’s 'business relationship' with Mexican drug cartels is a driving force behind this phenomenon.

Terrorism expert Matthew Levitt writes that an increasing number of U.S. prison inmates have tattoos that are pro-Hezbollah or are in Farsi, the language spoken in Iran. The claim is made in Levitt’s new book, Hezbollah: The Global Footprint of Lebanon's Party of God.

“Law enforcement officials across the Southwest are reporting a rise in imprisoned gang members with Farsi tattoos” and some express loyalty to Hezbollah.

His book includes an eye-opening quote from another official: “You could almost pick your city and you would probably have a [Hezbollah] presence.”

Hezbollah’s business relationship with Mexican drug cartels is seen as a driving force behind the phenomenon."

"In April 2010, an individual named Jamal Yousef was apprehended in New York City. During interrogation, he admitted to stealing weapons from Iraq for Hezbollah. Yousef alone knew of a Hezbollah stockpile in Mexico that included 100 M-16 assault rifles, 100 AR-15 rifles, 2500 hand grenades, C4 explosives and anti-tank weapons.

An actual member of Hezbollah was captured in Tijuana in July 2010. His arrest was the smoking gun proof that Hezbollah is investing in building a network in Mexico."

"Hezbollah’s presence goes further south than Mexico. The Venezuelan government has been accused of colluding with Hezbollah and Iran for years. It’s long been understood that Hezbollah operates in the tri-border area of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil."

But gee, isn't Hezbollah the same organization about which Presbyterian church leaders proclaimed: "We treasure the precious words of Hezbollah and your expression of goodwill toward the American people. Also we praise your initiative for dialogue and mutual understanding. We cherish these statements that bring us closer to you."

I live in the SW, just 50 miles north of the border.

There are several modern branches of the Presbyterian church.  One branch ordains gay clergy, women, and practices "love" without truth (which is no love at all) which is why they can't discern even the most blatant forms of evil.  This is the PC(USA).  Other branches (like the PCA) are generally Calvinist in their views, and renounce all sin and all forms of Islam.

Israel and Palestine
General Assembly Action

Resolution on Confronting Christian Zionism

The 216th General Assembly (2004) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) adopted this resolution, with comment:

1. Call upon the Stated Clerk to issue to all churches in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) a pastoral letter on Christian Zionism and the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine by making this letter available on the PC(USA) Web site. The assembly requests the following offices to assist the Stated Clerk in the preparation of this letter: the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy, Corporate Witness, Interfaith Relations, Middle East, and the Office of Theology and Worship.

2. Direct the Stated Clerk to inform current government officials that Christian Zionism does not represent the majority of American Christians and the faith of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)."

"Item 12-03 calls on the General Assembly to oppose Christian Zionism and to develop a plan to communicate the theological and political ramifications it engenders to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), in the mass media, and among U.S. government officials."

Check the hypocrisy of the next quote, in light of the last two paragraphs:

"Christian Zionism "weds religion with politics and interprets biblical faithfulness in terms of fidelity to Israel's future".

They conclude with even more hypocrisy, after carelessly casting a bag full of stones at futurists, in their pot calling the kettle black routine:

"In a time when the PC(USA) is beset with its own internal disagreements, we should resist the temptation to bolster our own self-confidence by throwing stones at others. Any judgments must be made with great care."
