Not a happy time for any Christian, but we could always hope that some of the killed were suffering from such abject ignorance to the truth of the Gospel, they may possibly have squeaked by as a result of that ignorance.

Though that is difficult to imagine that of those who must specifically deny the crucifixion of Christ and thus reject his shed blood while dening the Son of God as articles of their faith in Muhammad alone, aren't aware of the Gospel that Islam forces them to deny and transgress.
But as you point out they have indeed now met Jesus Christ, and understand that the very Son of God that they deny, is who they stand in judgment before:
