"After a man was accused of attempting to molest a young girl in Pakistan, the village council order that the girl's father rape the man's married daughter.
A married woman in Pakistan has set herself on fire after being raped on the orders of the local panchayat (village council) in the village of Dhillu Gharbi.
The woman, who was close to five month’s pregnant from the rape was the victim of an honor-based system of “justice†due to a crime committed by her father.
A number of months ago, the woman’s father was caught attempting to molest a young girl in the village and was arrested and booked by the police for attempted rape. However, he was subsequently released and then brought to the local council.
The council ruled that the father of the young girl would rape the daughter of the accused molester in retribution. The daughter of the accused molester happened to be living in her father’s house while her husband was working abroad.
After the rape, the local council sent to woman to her in-law’s house where she set herself on fire before he husband returned from abroad. Before she died in the hospital, she gave birth to a stillborn baby."
