While a bit off the subject of Islam, the following is a very good study in truth, and unnecessary human suffering and death that can result from unintended consequences of following lies and group-think. The following link quotes Hollywood socialists and others, on Hugo Chavez's socialist miracle in Venezuela, that were spoken not very many years ago.
Here's an example from the famous anti-Zionist Noam Chomsky on Chavez:
"There’s a strong opposition press bitterly attacking him all the time. There’s much more of an opposition press than there is in most of Latin America… There is some repression of the press, but it’s mostly, you know, verbal intimidation…"
In the same interview, Chomsky states that Chávez
"(carried forward) this historic liberation of Latin America…. (He was certainly) destructive to the rich oligarchy, to the US power…
Over the past ten years, I’ve seen a change of absolutely historic significance. I mean, if you go back to the Conquistadors 500 years ago, I sense that Latin America has been pretty much enthralled to Western force, (to) the United States in most recent times. Now, it’s pretty much free."

This is the direct result of people believing lies that come from straight out of the pit of hell.
Following are images of the wonderful socialist system in Chavez's wake:

"(Business Insider) Venezuela’s inflation rate has hit a new high, according to university research, with consumer prices in the crisis-ridden country rising by more than 40,000% annually for the first time on record."
