Mohammed's life was characterized as one of murder, pillage, and plunder through bloody imperialistic conquest, conquering almost the whole known world during the First Islamic Jihad, being stopped in France by Charles "the hammer" Martel in the battle of Tours.
His early criminal enterprise beginning with caravan plundering and assigning the murder of poets that spoke against him (according to the hadith).

In regard to rape, you be the judge:"
O prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom
thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom God, has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts who migrated [from Mecca] with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the prophet if the prophet wishes to wed her; - this only for thee, and not
for believers [at large]; we know what we have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hand possess; - in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And God is oft-forgiving, most merciful.
Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to give them: and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts: and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing. Wives AND captives. Of course concubinage is perfectly Quranic, in addition to 4 wives and is practiced in many parts of even very civilized parts of the world where Muslims are not under Sharia law. Though the god of Islam did award Mohammed as many wives as he wanted, and even gave Mohammed a special revelation that allowed him to take his step-son's wife.
But to suggest that the Quran does not condone rape, would be to suggest that women, whose husbands may have been slain in the very battle in which they were captured, would somehow enjoy being stuck in with 3 other wives and concubines, and raped by a victor that captured her as a "spoil" of war.
Or that a young girl would like to be pressed into sexual service in a harem after having been captured in battle and removed from her parents. Mohammed himself consumated his marriage with Aisha when she was 9 years old.
So how is this NOT RAPE, by any human standard?But then human rights isn't a top priority in Islam. Do a search for Muslim "honor killings", like the one below.

Sura al-Baqara 2:282 - "The women asked, "What is deficient in our intelligence and religion, Messenger of God?" He answered, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in your intelligence."
And of course in practice during this Second Islamic Jihad in many parts of the world today:
