Mohammad Wasn't Sure about his destination while all the Bible prophets surely knew that they were going to heaven after death.
Jabir reported that the Prophet of Islam said: "No good works of yours can ever secure heaven for you, nor can they save you from hell -- not even me, without the grace of God."
But how do we obtain the grace necessary to go to heaven? Well the Bible is clear on how we obtain such grace.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
So we see that Muhammad admitted all the "good works" he instituted through the religion of Islam are ultimately insufficient to obtaining everlasing life if heaven. So why did he not instruct his followers on how to obtain the only assurance we have as created beings to enter heaven? Well let's review what the bible says must occur in order to recieve grace and have a blissful everlasting life.
Mat 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake (Jesus), shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Hbr 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Here we are instructed that Christ must be first in our lives in order to inherit the gift He is offering. We MUST accept His offering to obtain remission of sin and therefore be presented as perfect before God. This offering is based on Jesus' sacrafice to atone for the sins of the world. Let's review what the Quran says about Jesus' sacrafice.
Koran Sura (Chapter) 4 verse 157 "But they killed him [Christ] not nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them. They killed him not. Nay, God raised him up unto himself."
Well if he never went through with the sacrafice necessary to atone for the sins of the world how else are we to be saved? Even Muhammad said works could not save us, but did not tell anyone how to obtain the grace necessary to be saved.
Abu Huraira related that when the verse, "Cause thy near relatives to fear," was revealed to the Prophet of Islam, the Prophet arose and began to proclaim: "Oh people of the Quraysh, and you sons of Abdul Manaf, and you Abbas, son of Abdul Muttalib, and you, Safiyyah my aunt, I cannot save you from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection. Take care of yourself, O my daughter Fatimah; you may use my property, but I cannot save you from God. Take care of yourself" (Bukhari).
Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet of Islam said: "No one of you will enter Paradise through his good works." They said: "Not even you, O Apostle of God?" "Not even I," he replied, "unless God cover me with His grace and mercy. Therefore be strong, and morning and evening, nay every moment, try to do good.
Muhammad was absolutely correct for once. Yet he was denying the very grace he acknowledged he needed to be saved. He continued his followers "try to do good" Certainly we should be good but as a result of salvation not a path to it. But what is good? Is it good deeds that make us good? Or is it walking upright before God and keeping His commandments that make us pleasing in the eyes of the Lord? Even Jesus was interested in man's perception of goodness.
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Jesus said none were good but God/Himself. However He gave us the only way we can enter heaven. By earnestly keeping His commandments. So what are His commandments?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
So we have the answer. A christian's WHOLE life is spent asking God for guidance, strength, truth, and humility so that he/she may keep God's commandments and be brought into the prescence of God. The great part is by earnestly asking for these things and striving for them we are keeping the commandments layed down. How do I know this?
Pro 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Jer 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
In the above verses we are told that if we seek God we will find Him as long as we do so with all our heart. This sounds familiar.
In fact Jesus' first and great commandment is this very thing.
So why was Muhammad so doubtful of his own eternity? Whether he had ever seeked for answers in the Bible seems unlikely given the fruit of his labour. Had he looked in earnest he would have discovered:
1Cr 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Cr 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Whether anyone wants to believe any of these traits define who Muhammed was is of little consequence since the Quran and hadiths both bare this information out. Muhammad had a real reason for being doubtful of his final resting place. Eternity is something we all must be aware of, but what does the bible say of how our eternity is spent for those who do not adhere to God on His terms?
Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame [and] everlasting contempt.
Jesus identifies those who will not be given the bread of life in very plain language.
John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
He draws a severe contrast between His mission and the mission of those who perpetrate the above mentioned sins. All of the above mentioned sins are things Muhammad committed many times and not only did he never seem the least bit sorry for them he even defended such actions with his so-called revelations. There is a whole Surah on the spoils of war. So if the greatest prophet of Islam was so unsure of his own eternity how can any muslim be sure of their own? Well if God is to be believed they can be sure of their eternity. Unfortunately their eternity will surely be one of everlasting contempt IF they do not turn from their blasphemous ways. I plead with you my muslim bretheren use your heart to seek God so that He may lead you to the bread of life.
