Mohammed steals step-son's wife
« on: September 22, 2008, 11:25:59 AM »
Mohammed at one point fell in love with his step son's wife and told him:

"'Praise belongeth unto Allah who turneth the hearts of men as he willeth.'

"Zaid got the message and arranged to divorce his wife.  Muhammad knew quite well that nothing short of a new "revelation" could save his face from this detestable act, so he dissuaded Zaid from putting his wife away until the transaction could be sanctioned by a "revelation" from Allah:

"Behold! thou didst say to one who had received the grace of God and thy Favor: 'retain thou [in wedlock] thy wife, and fear God.' But thou didst fear in thy heart that which God was about to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more fitting that thou shouldest fear God. Then when Zaid had dissolved [his marriage] with her, with the necessary [formality], we joined her in marriage to thee: in order that in [the future] there may be no difficulty to the believers in [the matter of] marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the later have dissolved with the necessary [formality] [their marriage] with them. And God's command must be fulfilled." (Sura 33:37)" - from Islam Reviewed

This is one of the Koranic contradictions since marriage to a step daughter or son is considered incest.

My Muslims friends. Do any of you really believe that God gave Mohammed a special revelation just so he could steal his step-son's wife?

No. Prophet Mohammad did not steal Zeyneb.

Zeyneb was the cousin of Prophet Mohammad and Zayd did not want to remain with her.

They had relationship problems.

Then they divorced and Zeyneb wanted to marry the Prophet.

It wasn't an illegitimate marriage because Zayd was his adopted son, not his real son.

In Islam you cannot marry the woman whom your son has divorced but Zayd was not his biological son.

That answers it.

And all alleged contradictions in the Noble Qur'an from the answering-islam team have been answered here:

From a Nigerian former Muslim:

Mohammed was monogamous for what 20 years with his sugar momma? She dies and then he goes sexually insane.

The whole point being that AFTER Mohammed had the special revelation, so that he could steal his step-son's wife, then, as you say, it was OK to marry a step-son's wife.
