Palestine vs. Israel as the Name of the Holy Land
« on: March 04, 2011, 09:15:18 AM »
In reviewing one of my older videos I became convicted by having used the term "Palestine" as that is how Israel was designated on the included map. I did a quick Yahoo and began with the following.

Palestine vs. Israel as the Name of the Holy Land

by Thomas S. McCall, Th.D.

Dr. Thomas McCall Dr. Thomas McCall, the Senior Theologian of our ministry, has written many articles for the Levitt Letter. He holds a Th.M. in Old Testament studies and a Th.D. in Semitic languages and Old Testament. He has served as Zola’s co-author, mentor, pastor, and friend for nearly 30 years.

This article appeared originally in the December 1997 Levitt Letter.

During the last few centuries, the world, Christians included, has fallen into a bad habit. We have bought into some early Roman propaganda. We have used the name Palestine, which Roman Emperor Hadrian placed on the country of Israel in 135 A.D., for so long that it has become common usage. This would be as incorrect as calling the Russia of today the “Soviet Union” or referring to Berlin as “East Germany.” The thoughts below by our ministry’s senior theologian, Dr. Thomas S. McCall, completely explore the subject. If you know somebody who’s fallen into this habit, please share this article with them.

Current Propaganda’s Use of Palestine

There is a propaganda war going on now with regard to the term “Palestine.” At one time it might have been argued that Palestine was an innocuous designation of the Middle Eastern area, that is generally thought of as the Holy Land. During the last few decades, however, the term Palestine has been adopted by Arabs living in Israel in the area west of the Jordan River. It is specifically employed to avoid the use of the name Israel, and must be considered an anti-Israel term. In all Arab maps published in Jordan, Egypt, etc., the area west of the Jordan River is called Palestine, without any reference to Israel. Palestine is the term now used by those who want to deny the legitimate existence of Israel as a genuine nation among the family of nations.

The term now adopted by the political entity within Israel that is gradually obtaining more and more pockets of territory through the “peace process,” is “the PA (Palestinian Authority). Although it must deal daily with Israeli officials, the PA hates to use the term Israel in any of its communications.

Palestine, therefore, must now be considered a political propaganda term with massive anti-Israel implications. The world press uses the term to question the legitimacy of modern Israel. Christians also have used the term Palestine for centuries in referring to the Holy Land. In earlier times this might have been excused (although biblically questionable) because of its common usage. In light of the current propaganda war against Israel, however, Christians must now re-evaluate the term Palestine and consider whether it is biblically, theologically or prophetically accurate.

Biblical Use of Palestine

The term Palestine is rarely used in the Old Testament, and when it is, it refers specifically to the southwestern coastal area of Israel occupied by the Philistines. It is a translation of the Hebrew word “Pelesheth.” The term is never used to refer to the whole land occupied by Israel. Before Israel occupied the land, it would be generally accurate to say that the southwestern coastal area was called Philistia (the Way of the Philistines, or Palestine), while the central highlands were called Canaan. Both the Canaanites and the Philistines had disappeared as distinct peoples at least by the time of the Babylonian Captivity of Judea (586 B.C.), and they no longer exist.

In the New Testament, the term Palestine is never used. The term Israel is primarily used to refer to the people of Israel, rather than the Land. However, in at least two passages, Israel is used to refer to the Land:

Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead who sought the young child’s life. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. (Matt. 2:20-21)

But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say to you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man shall have come. (Matt. 10:23)

The first passage is when Joseph, Mary and Jesus returned from Egypt to Israel, and the second has reference to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the Land of Israel. Jesus, Matthew and the angel speaking to Joseph use the term Israel with reference to the Land, even though the term was not then recognized by the Roman authorities.

It is clear, then, that the Bible never uses the term Palestine to refer to the Holy Land as a whole, and that Bible maps that refer to Palestine in the Old or New Testament are, at best, inaccurate, and, at worst, are a conscious denial of the biblical name of Israel.

History of the Term Palestine

Where did the term Palestine originate from? How did the world and the church get into the habit of calling the land of Israel “Palestine”? One of the guides we use in our tours to Israel is Zvi Rivai, an Israeli Messianic believer, who has done considerable research on this subject. Zvi informs us that before 135 A.D., the Romans used the terms Judea and Galilee to refer to the Land of Israel. When Titus destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the Roman government struck a coin with the phrase “Judea Capta,” meaning Judea has been captured. The term Palestine was never used in the early Roman designations.

It was not until the Romans crushed the second Jewish revolt against Rome in 135 A.D. under Bar Kochba that Emperor Hadrian applied the term Palestine to the Land of Israel. Hadrian, like many dictators since his time realized the propaganda power of terms and symbols. He replaced the shrines of the Jewish Temple and the Sepulchre of Christ in Jerusalem with temples to pagan deities. He changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitalina, and changed the name of Israel and Judea to Palestine. Hadrian’s selection of Palestine was purposeful, not accidental. He took the name of the ancient enemies of Israel, the Philistines, Latinized it to Palestine, and applied it to the Land of Israel. He hoped to erase the name Israel from all memory. Thus, the term Palestine as applied to the Land of Israel was invented by the inveterate enemy of the Bible and the Jewish people, Emperor Hadrian.

It is interesting to note that the original Philistines were not Middle Eastern at all. They were European peoples from the Adriatic sea next to Greece. It may have pleased Hadrian to utilize this Hellenistic term for the Jewish land. In any case, the original “Palestinians” had nothing to do, whatsoever, with any Arabs.

Christian Adoption of the Term Palestine

One of the first Christian uses of the term Palestine is found in the works of the Church historian Eusebius, who lived in Caesarea. He wrote around 300 A.D., as the Roman persecution of Christians was ending and the Emperor Constantine began to accept Christianity as legal. Eusebius did not accept Hadrian’s designation of Jerusalem as Aelia Capitalina, but he did use Hadrian’s term Palestine. Eusebius considered himself to be one of the bishops of Palestine. Thus, the anti-Israel, anti-Christian name of Palestine was assimilated into the Church’s vocabulary as the Byzantine Empire was being established.

The Church has, since that time, broadly used the term Palestine in literature and in maps to refer to the Land of Israel. It should be noted, however, that the Crusaders called their land the Kingdom of Jerusalem. When the British received the mandate after World War I, though, they called the land on both sides of the Jordan River, Palestine. This became the accepted geo-political term for several decades, and those who lived in the land were called Palestinians, whether they were Jews, Arabs or Europeans.

Even evangelical Christians who believe in the future of Israel have used the term Palestine. The New Scofield Reference Edition of the Bible has maps in the back entitled “Palestine under the Herods.” There never was a Palestine under the Herods. This is a serious misidentification. It would be something like looking at a modern map of Texas and having it titled “Mexico in the Twentieth Century.”

The MacArthur Study Bible published just last year contains a map called “Palestine in Christ’s Time” There are numerous references in the notes to something called first-century Palestine.

It appears that Bible-believing Christians have either knowingly or unwittingly followed the world, pagans and haters of Israel in calling Israel by the anti-Israel term Palestine. It is found throughout Bible maps, Bible commentaries and textbooks.

Proper Designation of the Land

The use of the term Palestine was biblically inaccurate and wrong throughout the Church age. However, it is more than just wrong, it is devastating in our time, when the term Palestine is the cornerstone of the propaganda war against Israel and the Jewish people. Do we want to use terms invented by those who hate Christ, the Bible and Israel? Do we want to utilize terms used by the enemies of Israel who desire to accomplish nothing less than the destruction of the Jewish people? I think not.

Christians should use the terminology of the Bible wherever possible. Why not go back to the terms used in the New Testament? The Gospel writers used the term Israel to refer to the Land. Why should we use any other term when referring to the Land, especially now that the Jews are back in the Land and have re-established the nation of Israel among the family of nations?

As we draw closer to the Second Coming of Christ, we should understand that Satan’s fury against the Church and Israel will grow exponentially. Satan hates the Gospel of the crucified and risen Messiah, and he hates the reality of the restoration of Israel as the nation that will ultimately receive Jesus as the Messiah at His return, and the nation that will be Christ’s earthly headquarters. The only term we should use for the Land is Israel, or its subdivisions of Judea, Samaria, and Galilee. We should make every effort to remove the term Palestine from our Bible maps and textbooks, and use only biblical terms with reference to the Holy Land of Israel.

Excerpt from "Tea With Terrorists"
http://teawithterrorists.com/Tea_with_Terrorists_17_Tea_with_Terrorists.Terrorism

There really was no such thing as the "Palestinian People." It was a myth, a marketing ploy. They were just Arabs with an attitude. The chip on their shoulder was the only thing that made them different from the other hundreds of millions of Arabs surrounding Israel. And it was why no one wanted them.

The land had originally been called Canaan, named after Abraham’s uncle twice removed. When Abe had settled there, about 2000 B.C., the Canaanites, Perizzites, and a few other tribes inhabited the land. By the time of the Exodus, in the mid-1400s, they had been joined by the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites. Between Joshua’s conquest, begun in 1406, and Israel’s golden age under David, about 1000 B.C., these peoples had all but disappeared.

But as the Jews had risen in numbers and power, two coastal nations had reigned in small niches in the north and south of the Promised Land. The Philistines were located near today’s Gaza, and the Phoenicians, in today’s Lebanon. The Assyrian conquest in the seventh century B.C., followed by the Babylonian invasion in the sixth, had not spared these seafaring peoples. They, like the Canaanites before them, had vanished without a trace.

Unlike the now-extinct Philistines, the Jews returned to Judea after seventy years of Babylonian captivity, only to witness successive waves of conquest. In 70 A.D., however, the Jews were once again exiled from their ancestral homeland. Finally, in a desperate attempt to sever the Jews’ emotional attachment to Judea, the Romans invented the name "Palestinia" in 135 A.D. However, Israel’s national memory was not so easily obliterated. They never forgot that this rocky piece of ground between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea was their homeland, no matter what their overlords insisted on calling it.

After the fall of Rome, the moniker Palestinia was largely forgotten, a mere historical footnote. That is, until the end of World War I. Following the defeat of the Turks, the British dusted off the old Roman epithet, incorrectly referring to Judea as "Palestine." The indigenous Arabs, who until that time had called the place Syria, took the name upon themselves, though they were genetically unrelated to the Philistines of old. But by calling themselves Palestinians and the land Palestine it caused the world to think it was theirs and that the Jews were trespassing. However, there have been no "Palestinian" people for the last 2,600 years. And there has never been a Palestinian state outside of Gaza.

The Palestinians in Israel Natives or Aliens?
http://www.balesitan.com/palestine-info/the-palestinians-in-israel-natives-or-aliens

While the Holy Land was ruled by the Muslim Ottomans, despite large waves of Jewish Zionist immigration, there were practically no conflicts between the Jews and the few local Arabs. Jews and local Arabs lived peacefully together. This peaceful co-existence ended after 1918, when the large waves of foreign Muslim-Arab immigration started, following the British conquest. Up until 1948 the British restricted Jewish immigration and encouraged Muslim-Arab immigration. It is the landless foreign Muslim-Arabs who immigrated after 1918 that started the conflict, NOT the zionistic Jewish immigration between 1881-1914, which was a peaceful period. For example, in 1929, the Hebron Massacre of the local Jews was done by foreign Arabs, not by the established local families who lived there and even tried to defend the Jews.
The Quran explicitly encourages lying and deception if it helps Muslims achieve a desired goal [16][17][18][19]. To deny the massive invasion of the Holy Land by foreign Muslims, the falsified Muslim-Arab propaganda claims that it is a myth. If it is indeed a myth, how can anyone explain the following simple observations?

The grandparents of the author’s wife were born in the Holy Land in the 19th century. They saw with their own eyes how empty the land was at the time. They also lived through and experienced first-hand the British conquest and the Arab’s massive invasion of the land that started in 1918. This invasion lasted for only 30 years, and ended in 1948 with the evacuation of the British from the land and the declaration of the state of Israel.
The family names of many Arabs who now occupy the Holy Land reveal their country of origin:  Masri (from Egypt ),  Iraqi (from Iraq), Tarabulsi (from Tarabulus-Tripoli in Lebanon), Hourani (from Houran in Syria), Husseini (from Jordan), and Saudi (from Saudi Arabia).
Following the publication of an earlier version of this article, the author received an email message from a reader who used to work with Arabs in Gaza and in various villages in the West Bank in the 1970′s. In his email the reader describes friendly discussions about family history with his Arab co-workers. Most of the co-workers had grandfathers who immigrated to the Holy Land from neighboring countries.

When Churchill said that “the Arabs have crowded into the country and multiplied till their population has increased more than even all world Jewry could lift up the Jewish population.” was he lying? Churchill was not a Muslim…

The name “Palestina” is a Latin-Roman name based on the Hebrew Biblical name of the ancient “Philistines” — “Plishtim” in Hebrew. The translation of this name to English is: “invaders”. The Philistines arrived from the Mediterranean islands near Greece and invaded the land about 4000 years ago . The Philistines are extinct since approximately 2000 years ago, and have no ancestral or historical relationship to Arabs. Before 1917, during the 400-years rule of the Ottoman empire, the Ottomans did not call the Holy Land  “Palestina”. The British decided to renew this ancient name and called the land “Palestine”. The local Arabs never called themselves “Palestinians”, not even during the British mandate. Both Arab and British leaders referred to them only as “Arabs”. For example: The Hope-Simpson report[15] published by the British in 1930, contains the phrase “the number of Palestinian unemployed, whether Arab, Jew or other…”. “Palestinian” was used only as an adjective in reference to the location and also included Jews.  The Arab inhabitants were always referred to as “Arabs”. The word “palestinians” does not appear anywhere in this report. “Palestinian Arabs”, “Palestinian Jews”, and “Palestinian Christians” were common terms. But, “Palestinians”, as a noun, before 1948, was not yet invented.

After 30 years of invasion, following the end of the British mandate and the declaration of the state of Israel in 1948, the Arabs recognized the fact that they invaded foreign land and invented for themselves a name in English — “Palestinians”. If the British were to call the land “New England”, and the local Arabs were to call themselves “English” would they automatically become English? It is important to emphasize that the concept of a “Palestinian” to describe the local Arab residents was invented by the Arabs AFTER the declaration of the state of Israel. This group of Arabs, who started calling themselves “the Palestinian nation” after 1948, does not have an original name in their native Arabic language.

Is there any nation in the world which does not have a name in its original native language? The Arabs who invaded the Holy Land do not have a name in their native Arabic language because they are not, and have never been, a unified group or a nation. Most of those Arabs cannot even pronounce the word “Palestinian”. They pronounce it “Falestinian”.

Historically, a “Falestinian” people never existed. The fact is that the Arabs, who now try to call themselves by the English name “Palestinians” and mis-pronounce it “Falestinians”, don’t even know what their name is in Arabic. Even Arab leaders and historians have admitted that a “Palestinian” people never existed. For example:

In 1937, the Arab leader Auni Bey Abdul Hadi told the Peel Commission: “There is no such country as Palestine. Palestine is a term the Zionists invented. Palestine is alien to us.”
In 1946, Princeton’s Arab professor of Middle East history, Philip Hitti, told the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry: “It’s common knowledge, there is no such thing as Palestine in history.“
In March 1977, Zahir Muhsein, an executive member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), said in an interview to the Dutch newspaper Trouw: “The ‘Palestinian people’ does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel.”
Joseph Farah, an Arab-American journalist, writes: “The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. Palestine has never existed as an autonomous entity.“
Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist acknowledged the lie he was fighting for:  “Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian? … we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians. They removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag.”
The Syrian dictator Hafez Assad said: “There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian entity“.

Dr. Azmi Bishara, a notable leader of the Arabs in Israel, who fought against the Israeli “occupation”, said in a TV interview[20]: “There is no Palestinian nation. It’s a colonial invention. When were there any Palestinians?” To see a clip of the interview click here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3n5-yG-6dU

The Arabs who now claim to be natives of the Holy Land have migrated to Palestine and invaded the land after 1917, from neighboring Arab countries, predominantly from areas now known as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. None of these countries existed as nations prior to 1913. They were nothing but a disorganized collection of tribes, constantly terrorizing each other, trying to seize land from their neighbors. Unfortunately, those Arab invaders, imported into the Holy Land their age-old “culture” of terrorizing neighbors to seize land. Many of them were social outcasts and criminals who could not find jobs in their own countries so they searched for their luck elsewhere. Some of them were accepted by the British regime as a source of cheap labor and were allowed to settle on unoccupied Jewish land. Even Yassir Arafat, the leader of the PLO, is not a native of the Holy Land. He called himself a “Palestinian refugee” but spoke Arabic with an Egyptian dialect. He was born in 1929 in Cairo, Egypt. He served in the Egyptian army, studied in the University of Cairo, and lived in Cairo until 1956. He then moved to Saudi-Arabia and founded the Al-Fatah terror organization, the precursor to the PLO, in Kuwait in 1958, together with his Saudi-Arabian friends. How exactly does that constitute a “Palestinian refugee”?  Being born in 1929 in Cairo, he cannot even be considered a son of Palestinian refugees (there were no refugees in 1929). Arafat must have been a good student of Muhammad, the founder of the Muslim religion, who said in the Quran: “War is deception”.[16]

In their propaganda, the Arabs who now call themselves “Palestinians” consistently demand that Israel and the world recognize their “pre-1948″ rights. That’s about 60 years ago. Mysteriously, they are never willing to add another 60 years to their “historical” claims on the Holy Land. They know very well that doing so will send them back to where they came from – Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. Years ago, during negotiations with the, so-called, “Palestinians”, a Israeli negotiator proposed to revise a mention of their claim of “pre-1948″ rights and replace it with “pre-1917″. The “Palestinians” vehemently opposed. Now we know why.

If there is anyone who still believes that a “Palestinian” nation ever existed before the end of the British mandate and the founding of the state of Israel, would they please be kind enough to answer when was it founded and by whom? What was its name in Arabic (not in Latin-English)? What was its form of government? What were its borders? Name one top “Palestinian” leader before Arafat? Which country ever recognized its existence and when? In which library or museum can we find any of its literature, coins, or historical artifacts? The answer to all these questions is “nil”. As stated by Zahir Muhsein: “The ‘Palestinian’ people does not exist.”

Some Arabs consider themselves the descendants of Abraham, the forefather of the Jewish nation. Ironically, if not for Muhammad’s study of the Bible, the Arabs would not have known of the existence of Abraham. Muhammad invented the Muslim religion in the 7th century AD, in Saudi Arabia. He studied the Bible in order to be better equipped in his attempts to persuade the Jews to follow his newly invented religion. When the Jews refused, he dictated the stories of the Quran (the Muslim bible) to his students, and filled it with his own imaginary accounts of Biblical events. (Muhammad himself did not know how to read or write.) He even took the liberty to change the God-given day of rest, Saturday – the Sabbath. Since Sunday was already taken by the Christians, he picked Friday as the next-best Muslim day of rest.

Muhammad never visited Jerusalem and the Holy Land, and did not consider them important enough to mention their name in the Quran even once. By comparison, Mecca and Medina, the only two Muslim holy cities, are mentioned in the Quran hundreds of times. Even though the name of the Holy Land is not mentioned in the Quran, the Quran refers to the Holy Land many times as the land of the children of Israel.[21] [22] [23][24].

The Jewish Holy Temple stood on Temple Mount long before the Muslim religion, or any other current world religion was conceived. Even when the founders of the Christian religion walked around in the streets of ancient Jerusalem there were no mosques nor churches there – only the Jewish Holy Temple and nothing else. The land of the Jewish Holy Temple in Jerusalem was purchased by King David, for the Jewish people, approximately 850 years BCE. The deed, the name of the previous owner, and the purchase price were recorded in the Bible (See Samuel-B Ch. 24 and Chronicles-A Ch. 21-22).

Today the Muslim “Palestinians” claim to own Temple Mount, the site of the Jewish Holy Temple in Jerusalem. They claim it is “their” holy site. Does anyone in the rest of the world know which way the Muslims in Jerusalem face when they pray? When the Muslims in Jerusalem pray in their mosques, even in the “Al Aktza” mosque built on the edge of Temple Mount, they actually stand with their back turned to Temple Mount. And, when they bow down in their prayers they show their behind to the site of the Holy Temple. How consistent is that with considering it a Muslim holy site?

The Muslims have long ago recognized that the Holy Temple is a Jewish holy site. Its name in Arabic is “Al Quds” – “The Holiness” in English,  which is an abbreviation for “The House of Holiness” – The Jewish Holy Temple. The fact is that Jerusalem is not important enough to the Muslims to be mentioned even once in the Quran, while Mecca and Medina, the only two Muslim holy cities, are mentioned hundreds of times. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, up until 1967, they never considered it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.
Can any Muslim in the world produce any credible evidence for their connection to this holy site, other than in Muhammad’s dream? Believe it or not, the one and only source for the Muslims’ claim to Jerusalem and the site of the Holy Temple, is a mention in the Quran of a dream that Muhammad had about an unknown “far distant place of worship (mosque)”[25]. This “far distant place of worship” could not have been in Jerusalem, because in Muhammad’s time there was no worship taking place at the site of the Holy Temple and there was not even a single mosque in Jerusalem. The first mosque in Jerusalem was built 83 years after Muhammad died.  Perhaps this “far distant place of worship” is the site of the Vatican in Italy?
The best reference for understanding the Muslim-Arab mentality and politically-motivated falsification of history is Muhammad’s own advice to his followers: “War is deception”[16][17][18][19].
The real problem facing those Arabs today is not the lack of a homeland. The historical root-cause of their problem and frustration is the fact that the countries they came from have not agreed to accept them back in. This is why so many of them live, up until today, in refugee camps, in neighboring Arab countries, lacking fundamental civil rights. In their frustration they feel that the only hope and choice they have is to try and steal a country. Many of the vehicles and the agricultural equipment in the Palestinian Authority have been stolen from their Israeli neighbors. For a while, Israel suffered the highest rate of automobile thefts in the world! Most of these stolen vehicles were later found in towns and villages of the Palestinian Authority. If invading foreign land is so easy; if stealing vehicles is so easy; why not try and steal a country too?
There is only one possible solution to the “Palestinians” desire for a homeland. It is the only solution that will satisfy their claim of the right to return to their homeland. Since helping them return to where they lived for less than 30 years is their own definition of justice, then helping them return to where they lived earlier for hundreds or thousands of years is, by the same definition, a better justice. Let’s all help them get the better justice they deserve. Let’s help them return to where they came from – Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.

Recent proposals have suggested a two-state solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict – one for the Jews and one for the Arabs. The map below shows that a much more generous solution already exists  -  21 states  -  one for the Jews and twenty for the Arabs.

So the land that is known as "Israel" in scripture, was renamed "Palestine" by a 2nd century Roman Emperor, in order to insult the Jews he had conquered. This fictional name for Israel was later given new life by the British the early 20th century, during the British mandate partitioning of Israel. Within this fictional country there is a fictional people that have renamed themselves "Palestinians" after having been properly termed by themselves and others as "Israelis". As Walid Shoebat put it, "one night I went to bed a Jordanian and the next morning I woke up a Palestinian". Yesterday, this fictional land and fictional people, were awarded observer status to the U.N. through a nearly unanimous vote with, I think, only 6 countries voting against it.

The proper name for these so-called "Palestinians" is actually Israeli Muslims, or Arab-Israeli Muslims, or just Muslims for short, to properly describe the group that is demanding more and more of Israel in their quest to "drive the Jews into the sea". That is, Israeli Muslims, as directly opposed to secular Arab-Israelis who:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Zionism#Secular_Arab
"In contrast, a poll of 507 Arab-Israelis conducted by the Israeli Democracy Institute in 2007 found that 75 percent profess support for Israel's status as a Jewish and democratic state which guarantees equal rights for minorities. Israeli Arab support for a constitution in general was 88 percent.[31]"

Thus the ONLY group anti-Zionism helps are Muslims, in their continuing conquest and subjugation of Israeli Jews, Arabs and Christians, toward turning Israel into just another female circumcising, multiple wife and concubine beating, child doing, Christian beheading, Islamic terrorist slave state. Just another stepping stone in the global conquest of the Islamic Second Jihad."

While I don't know, I doubt seriously that any Arab-Israeli would refer to themselves as a "Palestinian" unless they were a Muslim. I may be wrong about this, but perhaps it might even be an insult. I'd appreciate it if some non-Muslim Israelis would join us and weigh in on this discussion.

Just cruising around I found this:

In the Hamas Interior Minister's own words.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAfENxzv2mc

"Brothers, there are 1.8 million of us in Gaza. Allah be praised, we all have Arab roots and every Palestinian in Gaza and throughout Palestine can prove his Arab roots--whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen, or anywhere.

Personally, half my family is Egyptian. We are all like that.

More than 30 families in the Gaza Strip are called Al-Masri [Egyptian]

Brothers, half of the Palestiniains are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis

Who are the Palestinians? we have many families called Al-Masri, whose roots are Egyptian. Egyptian! They may be from Alexandria, from Cairo, from Dumietta, from the North, from aswan, from Upper Egypt. We are Egyptians. we are Arabs. We are Muslims "

In reviewing your post regarding Google search results for christian zionism,  I came across several websites doing the search "christian zionism heresy".

Lots of so-called christians were talking about Israel being the reason that there is no peace in the middle east, and how they are oppressing the "Palestinians".  It upsets me to know how short-sighted and arrogant these people are to think that Israel can make peace with them.  I didn't reply to your Google post yesterday because I wan't in the right frame of mind to address this yesterday (I was quite angry).

But I just happened to run across this article today:

Hamas unveils rocket statue in Gaza City

Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) - Hamas unveiled a rocket-shaped statue Monday showcasing its capacity to strike arch-enemy Israel, as the Jewish state boasted its own haul of captured weapons it claims were bound for Gaza.

"Hamas managed to take the battle to the heart of the Zionist entity (Israel) after developing its rocket system, succeeding where many Arab armies had failed," said a leader of Hamas armed wing the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, flanked by masked fighters at the statue's unveiling.

The monument in Gaza City features a life-size model of a large M75 rocket, named in honour of Qassam Brigades founding member Ibrahim al-Maqadma -- who was assassinated by Israel in 2003 -- and alluding to its range of 75 kilometres.

M75 rockets fired from Gaza during the last major war with Israel in November 2012 struck areas around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, almost 70 kilometres (40 miles) away.

The unveiling of the black-and-red rocket that points skywards on a stone pedestal came as Israel was showcasing a shipment of arms it claims to have captured on its way from Iran to Gaza.

Israel's military says it found 40 long-range M-302 rockets aboard the Panamanian-flagged Klos-C it intercepted in the Red Sea last week, as well as 181 122mm mortar shells and approximately 400,000 7.62-calibre rounds.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the seizure of the ship not only foiled the delivery of lethal weapons to Gaza but served to "expose the true face of Iran, which was behind it".

Iran has flatly denied any involvement with the shipment, but Netanyahu accused the Islamic republic of "brazenly lying".

Israel says the captured M-302 rockets have a range of 100 miles (160 kilometres), and could therefore strike anywhere inside Israel if fired from Gaza.

A Hamas official at the Gaza City ceremony told AFP, on condition of anonymity, that in any future confrontation with the Jewish state, cities in the far north would be targeted.

Are the "Palestinian" people living in decrepid conditions?  Yes! Some of them are... but STOP BLAMING ISRAEL.  It is their OWN people that cause their oppression.  Analogy:  This would be no different than a bunch of terrorists building a compound in Southern Oklahoma and lobbing missiles (on occasion) onto Dallas, TX.  The other "non-violent" people that live within that compound may have no intention of blowing things up, but would we really demand that Oklahoma allow them to expand their capabilities?  Heck no!  The city of Dallas and the governor of Texas would be furious and would possibly send in their own airstrikes against the small compound in Oklahoma... all while Washington DC talks about how oppressed those inside the compound are.

Beware, so-called Christians, God warned that he would make Israel a heavy stone that no nation could bear... and not in a "bad" way, but in a way that PROVES God's sovereignty and love for his people.  Do we want peace as Jesus preached peace?  Yes!  But Jesus didn't preach peace through appeasement of the unrighteous, he preached peace with God all mighty.

No matter how peaceful you'd like Israel to be with THE enemy, THE enemy will not have peace.  The only thing THE enemy wants is the complete annihilation of Israel... the complete annihilation of anything that points to the truth of Jesus Christ who came through this nation.  It is my opinion that THE enemy believes that if he can destroy Israel, he can stop God's plan of redemption for them.

Romans 11:24-32 "For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all."

THIS is what the enemy is trying to prevent.  It is the whole purpose of Islam itself... to deny the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Please understand that this blindness was prophesied for us in scripture through the story of Joseph and his 11 brothers:

Joseph sold for silver as a slave into Egypt to toil because of his brothers' sins. Chained and imprisoned under false charges by the captain of the guard. One criminal he was imprisoned with was set free, the other died. His brothers lied so that everyone would believe Joseph had died. But he was not dead, he was alive. After being imprisoned the then king of the known world raised Joseph to his right hand, giving him charge over the whole kingdom that it would be saved from famine. Whoever wanted to have grain during the famine had to sell all they had to eat of the king's storehouse. Eventually his brothers, not knowing who he was, had to seek his help because the famine in the land was great.

Jesus sold for silver to toil on the cross for the sins of his brothers. Chained and imprisoned under false charges by the high priest. One criminal he was crucified with was set free, the other died. After dying on the cross and rising again, his fellow Jews lied so that everyone would believe he was dead, but he was not dead, he was alive. Afterward the ruler of the universe raised him up to his right hand, giving him charge over the whole kingdom that it would be saved from famine. Whoever wants to eat from the king's storehouse must count all as loss for the sake of his provision. Eventually, his brothers, having not yet recognized him will be invited to sup with him, and will recognize him when he reveals himself to them.

This happened in small part in Luke 24:30-31.  But Christians!, do not fall for THE enemy's tricks.  Any peace between Israel and Islam is always a false peace.  Islam's (THE enemy's) only goal is to remove all traces of God's redemption from the face of the planet.

I see I have been relegated even further back to page 7 in the google rankings today.

Interesting you should pop this thread. The other day I found myself revamping the first section on the web page at the following link, which I believe could go some distance in convicting some who use the term casually through ignorance (the way I had on an occasion or two).

The quicker humanity realizes they are parroting a 2nd century pagan Roman Emperor, the quicker it will be for everyone to recognize who the enemy of humanity is:

With the exception of the term 'Palestine'

http://thetruthwins.com/archives/the-obama-peace-plan-includes-permanently-dividing-the-city-of-jerusalem

Barack Obama’s “two state” peace plan would not just permanently divide the land of Israel.  It would also permanently divide the city of Jerusalem.  It is anticipated that the “Kerry Plan”, which is expected to be revealed to the public soon, will call for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem without specifying the exact borders.  According to some media reports, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has approached Palestinian leadership with the idea of locating the Palestinian capital in the neighborhood of Beit Hanina.  Of course the details of any peace agreement will change as negotiations progress, but one thing is becoming increasingly clear – the Palestinians will never accept an undivided Jerusalem and the U.S. government is going to pressure Israel to hand part of the holy city over to them.  But if Israel gives in and accepts a “peace plan” that includes the permanent division of Jerusalem, it will end up being absolutely disastrous for Israel, for the Palestinians and for the United States.

In many ways, the Obama administration finds itself stuck between a rock and a hard place, and the status of Jerusalem is the most “burdensome stone” of all.  Obama and Kerry desperately want to cement their legacies by getting the Israelis and the Palestinians to agree to a peace plan before Obama’s term is over, but the two sides are far apart on a number of issues.

The Palestinians have convinced Obama and Kerry that they will never, ever accept a deal that does not include a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem, so Obama and Kerry have decided that their best bet is to try to get the Israelis to cave in on their demand for an undivided holy city.

It is now an open secret that the Kerry Plan is going to call for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem.  The following comes from a recent article by Thomas Friedman of the New York Times… [click the original link to read more]

Genesis 35:10 ESV /

And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.” So he called his name Israel.

Genesis 32:28 ESV / 3 helpful votes

Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Amos 9:7 ESV /

“Are you not like the Cushites to me, O people of Israel?” declares the Lord. “Did I not bring up Israel from the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor and the Syrians from Kir?

Your Question is as absurd as your answers. Who are the Americans Are they all the Ofspring of Americo Vespucci??

Absurd Notioon to ask in this day an age when the children Of Israel no longer know themselves as such

TWELVE TRIBES  one remains and is made up of different nations. Jews are not a Nation (Thats as big a Lie as Israel is a land that ever existed.

The bani Israel (the world bani is left out of all translations (conveniently) to make it appear as if Israel is a land when it is clearly a people!!!!
The people were brought from various regions the bani Israeel was brought from Egypt according too the Bible (ALL TWELVE TRIBES)!!!

WHAT BIBLE AND WHAT HISTORY ARE YOU READING???

In reviewing one of my older videos I became convicted by having used the term "Palestine" as that is how Israel was designated on the included map. I did a quick Yahoo and began with the following.

Palestine vs. Israel as the Name of the Holy Land
Israel is not a LAND!!!!

Always quick with the blasphemy, while insisting on remaining in abject ignorance, to the very scriptures that you claim to have been exposed to:

Matthew 2:20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life. 21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

The LAND of Israel. The LAND of the Israelites. The LAND of the EVERLASTING COVENANT Yahweh made with the seed of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob.

Genesis 15:18  In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

NOT the stopover place of the Philistine "Sea Peoples", who disappeared thousands of years ago.

That you prefer to parrot a 2nd century pagan Roman Emperor, than to simply recognize and acknowledge the truth, is no surprise.

In typical fashion, the premise you launched off on is false.
Lie upon lie upon lie because you follow the father of lies through his "messenger" Muhammad.
Ya, ya, we know Muj, your next answer is, "but the scriptures are corrupted".

But if you didn't follow Muhammad alone, you wouldn't have a desire to blaspheme the one true God of the scriptures, and the record that He gave us.

1Jo 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

That's why I'm requesting you present some historical and archaeological evidence, that suggests that Mecca existed before the 4th century AD when pagans from Yemen initially settled it, before posting further blasphemy against Yahweh in this forum. This exercise will help you see that you follow Muhammad alone, through pure fiction, that was all created and put to the pen in the 7th to 10th centuries AD.

Until you can become rational and responsive, with other than more spontaneous lies blurted out, we don't have time or forum space to waste on that.
The rest of your post went to spam until you comply with the terms of returning.

Also, according to Muj., even though the Bible is corrupt, Muj says we can trust what it says about Jesus' relationship with the Father... as long as it doesn't say Jesus is the only begotten Son, Jesus is the propitiation, the prophesied messiah... and on and on...

Indeed all Muslims claim to "believe in Jesus", even as they must deny everything we know about Jesus - except of course the 2nd century Egyptian fable Muhammad parroted about Him speaking from the cradle!

Pete a Jewish friend of mine just posted an essay on facebook. The info is not new to you but I still thought you might find it interesting:

FOR THOSE WHO STAND BY AND BACK THE INVENTED PEOPLE CALLED THE PALESTINIANS , HERE'S A LITTLE HISTORY LESSON!

“The history of the Palestinian people goes back as far as”… This is where Arab “historians” disagree. Some say the “Palestinian people” have a proud 4000-year history; others say 10,000 years, 30,000 years, and even –don’t laugh- 200,000 years, which makes the Neanderthals pretty young people compared to the “mysterious Palestinians”. But although Arab historians do not agree on the “insignificant” details like the age of the “Palestinian people”, they do agree that this people is incredibly ancient-far more ancient than Jews, Romans or Greeks.

In the glorious history of the “Palestinian people”, there is only one “small” problem; nobody in history ever found them.

In 721 BCE, Assyria conquered the Kingdom of Israel. This is a historical fact nobody denies. Of course, the “Palestinian people” heroically fought against the aggressors and caused them heavy losses? Well, not exactly. Not a single Assyrian Chronicle, not even a single clay tablet, mentions this noble people. Could it be that hundreds of thousands of “Palestinians” were heroically fighting the Assyrian invaders – and these invaders did not even notice it? At the same time, those same Assyrian Chronicles are full of reports about the battles with the Israelis. So, Assyrians very well found Israelis, but did not notice any “Palestinians”?

No "Palestinians" in the Babylonian Chronicles either. http://www.bible-history.com/
No “Palestinians” in the Babylonian Chronicles either. Photo http://www.bible-history.com/

Well, Assyrians did not notice any “Palestinian people”. Most probably, because the King Sargon II was a Zionist. And what about Babylonians? The same mystery awaits us when we start reading the Babylonian Chronicles about the conquest of the Kingdom of Judah between 597 and 582 BCE. Jews are there at every second page. And “Palestinians”? There is not a word about them. Babylonians did not find them, either.

But of course Persians found “Palestinians” and left to us the detailed description of this wonderful people, of its rich culture, interesting habits, language…? Alas. They did not. The Persian Chronicles are telling us about Jews, about how Cyrus granted them the permission to return to Jerusalem, about how Persian satraps ruled in Judah and Israel… But about the “Palestinians” – not a word.

What makes the “quest to find Palestinians” even more amusing is that Alexander the Great passed all along the coast of Palestine from Tyre to Gaza in 332 – but did not find a single “Palestinian”: only Jews.

Where the heck did the “Palestinians” hide?

Well, ok, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, even Alexander the Great: it was so long ago! But what about the scrupulous and methodical Romans? The same story.

Romans explain in great detail how they were besieging Jerusalem, scrupulously informing us about how Jews were desperately defending it. They describe the Jewish revolts and how they quelled them and provide information about how Jews were fighting against them in Masada, about how Romans divided Judah and renamed it Palestine, about how they renamed Jerusalem in Aelia Capitolina…They tell us about a lot of things – but they do not say a single word about some “Palestinians”.

Moreover, although they renamed the land in “Palestine”, they went on calling its inhabitants as they were called for thousands of years: Jews. So, “Palestine” became the official name of the land, but its inhabitants remained Jews.

Just a moment, and where were the “Palestinian people” when Arabs came?

It’s a million dollar question. Modern Arabs say they are “Palestinians”. And what did the Arabs of the 7th century, those who conquered Palestine, say about this?

Do you know any document written in the period of the Arab rule in Palestine that would say a word about some “Palestinians”? I do not. And nobody does, because such a document does not exist.

The situation becomes really amusing! Arabs today are foaming about how their forefathers lived in Palestine since the Time Immemorial, and their forefathers did not have any idea about their glorious and ancient past there.

Well, after all, the Arab rule in Palestine did not last long. Just 300 years after the Arab conquest, Turks –first Mamluks and then Ottomans- threw them out. Under various names – Seljuks, Mamluks, Ottomans- the Turks ruled in Palestine for 600 years. Quite enough time to find such a numerous and glorious ethnic group as the “Palestinian people”. Did the Turks find them? Alas! The Turkish official statistics accurately puts the number of Jews, Arabs, Circassians and Bosnians in Palestine, providing detailed information about the number of Muslims, Christians and Jews – yet they never mention any “Palestinian people”.

Even the Romans who renamed the land "Palestine" found no "Palestinians."
Even the Romans who renamed the land “Palestine” found no “Palestinians.”

Ok. Assyrians, Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Persians and Arabs did not happen to notice any “Palestinian people”. Turks, in those 600 years they ruled in Palestine, did not find them either. And where was this incredibly ancient and unbelievingly heroic people hiding after 1917? The numerous League of Nations Commissions (later UN Commissions) did not find them; all the League of Nations documents of that period are only about Jews and Arabs, but there is not a word about any “Palestinians” as a separate people. Maybe the politicians of the Western countries talked about “Palestinians” then? No, they did not. Delegates from 11 nations went to the area and found what had long been apparent: two conflicting groups, Arabs and Jews, whose national aspirations could not be reconciled. “Palestinians”? Who are they?

But the politicians of the Arab counties, of course… Alas. The politicians of the Arab countries were very clear on this subject.

“We consider Palestine as part of Arab Syria, as it has never been separated from it at any time. We are connected with it by national, religious, linguistic, natural, economic and geographical bonds.” (First Congress of Muslim-Christian Associations, February 1919)

The representative of the Arab Higher Committee to the United Nations submitted a statement to the General Assembly in May 1947 that said, “Palestine was part of the Province of Syria,” and that, “politically, the Arabs of Palestine were not independent in the sense of forming a separate political entity.”

In 1937, a local Arab leader, Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, told the Peel Commission, which ultimately suggested the partition of Palestine: “There is no such country as Palestine! ‘Palestine’ is a term the Zionists invented! There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria.”

“Palestine and Transjordan are one.” King Abdullah, Arab League meeting in Cairo,12 April 1948

So the Arabs in the 1940s did not notice any “Palestinians”. Moreover, they did not “notice” any “Palestine” either!

Ok. In the 40s, the Arab politicians did not find any “Palestinian people”. It’s no surprise; nobody could find them.

But maybe they “found” this mysterious “Palestinian people” later? They did not.

Syrian President Hafez Assad addressing the Palestinian leader, the Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), President of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and “Father of the Palestinian People” Yasser Arafat, explained to him:

“You do not represent Palestine as much as we do. Never forget this one point: There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian entity, there is only Syria. You are an integral part of the Syrian people, Palestine is an integral part of Syria. Therefore it is we, the Syrian authorities, who are the true representatives of the Palestinian people.”

Of course, the Palestinian leader, “Father of the Palestinian People” and so on, rejected these insinuations with indignation and… Actually, no, he did not.

"Our nation is the Arabic nation that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea and beyond it..." -Yasser Arafat. Photo Source: http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/
“Our nation is the Arabic nation that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea and beyond it…” -Yasser Arafat. Photo Source: http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/

Moreover, Arafat himself made a definitive and unequivocal statement along the same lines as late as 1993, when he declared that, “The question of borders doesn’t interest us… From the Arab standpoint, we mustn’t talk about borders. Palestine is nothing but a drop in an enormous ocean. Our nation is the Arabic nation that stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea and beyond it…The P.L.O. is fighting Israel in the name of Pan-Arabism. What you call “Jordan” is nothing more than Palestine.”

Not long ago, Azmi Bishara (the ex-Knesset member exiled from Israel for passing sensitive information to Hezbollah during the Second Lebanon War) who is anything except Israel’s friend, said the same: there is no Palestinian people. You can see and hear his words for yourselves, here is the link.

“The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan.” – King Hussein of Jordan, in 1981

“Palestine is Jordan and Jordan is Palestine; there is only one land, with one history and one and the same fate,” Prince Hassan of the Jordanian National Assembly was quoted as saying on February 2, 1970.

Abdul Hamid Sharif, Prime Minister of Jordan declared in 1980, “The Palestinians and Jordanians do not belong to different nationalities. They hold the same Jordanian passports, are Arabs and have the same Jordanian culture.”

But the Arabs who lived in Palestine since, as they assure us, the Time Immemorial, of course did not let Syrian and Jordanian dictators deprive them of their proud Palestinian past? You will be surprised, but they let them. And they had very serious reasons for this.

Do you know that until 1950, the name of the Jerusalem Post was THE PALESTINE POST?

That the journal of the Zionist Organization of America was NEW PALESTINE?

That the Bank Leumi’s original name was the ANGLO-PALESTINE BANK?

That the Israel Electric Company’s original name was the PALESTINE ELECTRIC COMPANY?

That there was the PALESTINE FOUNDATION FUND and the PALESTINE PHILHARMONIC?

And all these were JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS, organized and run by JEWS.

In America, the Anthem of the Zionist youngsters sang “PALESTINE, MY PALESTINE”, “PALESTINE SCOUT SONG” and “PALESTINE SPRING SONG”.

Until the late 60s, to call an Arab a “Palestinian” would mean to insult him because until the late 60s, the word “Palestinian” was commonly and unanimously associated in all the world with Jews, and all the world knew: Palestine is just another name for Israel and Judah, like for example Kemet was just another ancient name for Egypt. Arabs who lived in Palestine identified themselves as Arabs and were insulted when someone called them “Palestinians”: we are not Jews, we are Arabs, they used to respond.

Let’s Set Things Straight

There is a country in the Far East. The people who live there, (and they have lived in this country for many centuries), poetically called it “The Land Of The Rising Sun”. Then the Western travelers and geographers came to this country and gave it another name. Why? Maybe they were not poets, or maybe they came there on the sunset, or maybe they could not pronounce the original name in the original language… Did the people who lived there change because Western travelers and then politicians and journalists started to call their country by another name? No. They were those same people and they went on calling their country “The Land Of The Rising Sun”.

And the West calls it Japan.

There is a country in the Middle East. The people who lived there for many centuries called it “Eretz Israel”- The Land of Israel. Then the people from the West came- and gave to it another name. Did the people who lived there change? No. They were those same people and they went on calling their country “The Land of Israel”.

And the West calls it Palestine.

Sidenote fromMarturion I think the 721BC might be off by a year or two.

Welcome back Mart!

Delegates from 11 nations went to the area and found what had long been apparent: two conflicting groups, Arabs and Jews, whose national aspirations could not be reconciled.

This is a common and sadly tragic error. The two groups that were in conflict then, are the same two groups that are in conflict today.
Israeli Muslims VS Israeli Jews, Israeli Christians, and Israeli non-Muslim Arabs.

Everybody except Muhammad's followers are willing to, and do, live side by side in peace.

The scripture ignorant, Satan inspired, Godless liberal media advanced, and and continue to advance, 2nd century Roman Emperor Hadrian's Satan inspired name "Palestine", specifically to obscure the identity of the two groups that are actually in conflict. Old Testament or new, the name remains unchanged

It appears to me that the author of this particular article made a common mistake of generalizing when using the term Arabs. As you correctly point out not all Arabs are muslims. I believe the point the author was trying to make is that islamic Arabs are the ones claiming to be Palestinians today. Was the article perfect? Did the author dot all the i's and cross all the t's? No not really, but I think she made her point and that is that the muslim's claiming to be palestinians aren't palestinians but instead transplanted Arabs. Despite these discrepancies I found it interseting and thought you might also.

No.

(Matt. 10:23)
Remember this article was written by a Jew not a Christian (who is most likely still under the spirit of slumber) so we can't expect her to use New Testament Scripture to support her view . While the author certainly recognized that even  the Romans called the land Palestine she also pointed out that those the Romans were calling Palestinians were Jews not muslim's from Arabic countries. I think the point the author was trying to make by comparing the name change to Japan was that when outsider's change the name of a country those that live in the country will continue to use the old name.

I thought it was a great article that covered a lot of bases. I should have prefaced my comment with "great article". Even Netanyahu inadvertently helped to muddy the waters with his famous quote:

"if the Arabs lay down their arms there will be no more war, but if Israel lays down its weapons there would be no more Israel."

The fact is that secular Arabs and even Christian Arabs, are arms-toting members of the IDF, in defense of Israel.

That was within the context of the "scripture ignorant", and "Godless" liberal media, but even more a stand alone comment as stated, for general info for read-only participants "....Old Testament or New...".

Pete would you mind if I copy and paste the opening post of this thread to my facebook page? It might stir up a few good conversations or it might get me temporarily suspended, but either way it will get a little exposure.

That was all from the Levitt letter I credited at this link:

The second post from Craig Winn is great too! If you haven't read "Tea With Terrorists" it is a must read, written by a stunningly brave guy who actually did have tea with terrorists.

Thanks, I'll have to add that to my list of books to get. I'll probably have to order it online as the nearest real book store is about a 45 minute drive each way.

It's free online, as is "Prophet of Doom". Craig had a publisher, but they dumped him as the truth in his books that he presents in perhaps too much of an entertaining fashion, is too hot for a populace of dhimmis.

You don't have to drive anywhere!

I did pick up a used copy of "Prophet of Doom" a few years back, but imagine they are scarcer today. I don't know if his internet host dumped him too, but Craig's website looks dangerous, so it may be better to use the archive:
