If the perpetrator had been in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, Mauritania, Sudan or northern Nigeria, in all likelihood he would have walked away without any prosecution whatsoever - particularly since the nation States themselves murder gays on their own account. Let alone that in general, Muslims that commit crimes against non-Muslims, are treated more leniently than for crimes committed against fellow Muslims.

If you are a Muslim you are in the house of peace, but if you are a non-Muslim you are in the house of war, and while you may not be at war against Islam, Islam has been at war against you for the last 1400 years.

Muslims fleeing Islamic countries are not refugees, while the Christians they persecute in those countries and continue to persecute even while in refugee camps, continue to be ignored as refugees by comparison.
