Bible Resources in English and Arabic
« on: July 31, 2009, 09:23:47 PM »
The vast majority of Muslim testimonies result from having simply picked up a bible and started reading. The Gospel is introduced on this site with some bolded text for emphasis:
http://www.islamandthetruth.com/gospel_of_john.htm

An online King James Version by default, with a great search window for fingertip access to verses, and a link to each verse that can be copy and pasted, is: http://www.blueletterbible.org/

For deeper study with an easy to access Textus Receptus Greek/English interlinear and Strong's definitions can be found here, but unfortunately it is New King James Version by default, but you can also access the KJV with the same drop-down menu as the rest: http://www.olivetree.com/cgi-bin/EnglishBible.htm

Audio versions can be found here: http://www.audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
and here: http://www.audiotreasure.com/KJV/

If you are Arabic speaking The Smith and Van Dyke Arabic version can be found here: http://www.arabicbible.com/
An Arabic audio version can be found here: http://www.arabicbible.com/bible/nt_audio.htm

For a movie version select one of the YouTube videos at this search.

Our #1 priority here is interesting our Muslim friends to simply read the Gospel. Mohammed told his followers he was to confirm and guard the Scriptures which had been spread and read all over the known world by Muhammad's day.

Sura 5:48 To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;

Do you trust God to show you the truth?
Allah instructs Muhammad's followers to believe in the scripture that came before Mohammed. How could a Muslim obey Allah's commandment to: "Believe in ... the scripture which He sent to those before (him)." if you haven't read those scriptures?

I read the Quran cover to cover - every word - in chronological order. If our Muslim friends haven't read the Gospel, how can they expect to do a book report on it?

I tried to click into the churchintheworld.org link, but I keep getting a HTTP 403 Forbidden page because I don't have a password.  Can you help me get into the website?

Thanks,
Scott

I'm not sure what link you are referring to. I googled churchintheworld.org as you put but nothing showed up. However there is a churchintheword.com website, but I know little to nothing about it.
Doth that man love his Lord who would be willing to see Jesus wearing a crown of thorns, while for himself he craves a chaplet of laurel? Shall Jesus ascend to his throne by the cross, and do we expect to be carried there on the shoulders of applauding crowds? Charles H. Spurgeon

I'm referring to the "here's a link to a good sound Bible teacher" on the Behold the Beast page, as well as others throughout the website.  The link goes to a site listed as www.churchintheworld.org, but I am told every time I've clicked on the link that I need a password to get in.

His name is Larry Kennedy. It could be he doesn't maintain the website any more. I can't find it either. I know the Lord was using him powerfully, in international affairs, so maybe he couldn't do both.
I just did a "who is" search and he is still the owner of record of churchintheworld.org

Here's a good tool:
http://www.e-sword.net/
It's an electronic Bible Study resource package.  You can download add-ons including several translations of the Bible, maps and commentaries from various authors through the centuries, and some have Strong's Numbers references in the translations themselves.  You download the add-ons through the program itself on the Downloads menu.  Commentaries on Revelation, of course, have a tendency to be either Preterist, Futurist, or Adventist.  I recommend only downloading commentaries from those who you believe to know the truth or just do without.
