A spiritual skeptic and accomplished journalist embarks on the journey to chase down Jesus in history. Here he creates a most illuminating case for Jesus and the Gospel accounts. Admittadly it has been a long time since I read this and am now just starting to read it again but I still recommend this to anyone interested in the historocity of Jesus or the Gospels.
Doth that man love his Lord who would be willing to see Jesus wearing a crown of thorns, while for himself he craves a chaplet of laurel? Shall Jesus ascend to his throne by the cross, and do we expect to be carried there on the shoulders of applauding crowds? Charles H. Spurgeon
