Congresswoman Ilhan Omar called for a sharia punishment of flogging for her critics who have accused her of adultery for her affair with Tim Mynett.
“And those who accuse chaste women, and produce not four witnesses, flog them with eighty stripes, and reject their testimony forever. They indeed are the Faasiqoon (liars, rebellious, disobedient to Allaah)”
The issue here isn’t whether Ilhan Omar committed adultery. The issue is a sitting congresswoman invoked threat of brutal sharia violence against her critics. It’s an unprecedented move and was met with backlash from the public, including a collective of leadership.

You basically are telling them that if they say the truth, about you, they will [be] punished by the sharia law that you are trying to import to our country. Ilhan Omar’s tweet came the same day as another tweet using the Arabic expression for praising God and redirecting it as a political attack, to which human rights activist Yasmine Mohammed offered a quick retort educating Ilhan Omar on her own faith terminology.

For those of you unaware, that phrase is said when you’re happy. She is praising Allah. She is praising Allah that Americans will be going through a very painful time.
If she were commiserating, she’d say Allah yahmeena (Allah protect us) or Autho billah (I seek refuge w Allah)
It’s important to remember that elected officials are duty-bound to uphold U.S. law — not Islamic law. Advocating for a medieval penal code not only fuels and justifies concerns about sharia integration into American culture, it’s not an act in service of the American people."
