A Christian martyr says "I will die for what I believe in"
A Muslim so-called martyr says "You will die for what I believe in"
As many times as I pasted that into YouTube comments and PMs, it never really struck me until I was chatting in a Muslim forum, that they have no understanding whatsoever, of martyrdom. The subject was the crucifixion and one suggested that even if Jesus died it would be irrelevant. I wondered how they could have that attitude since their prophet was all about "martyrdom".
Then it struck me. The only way a Muslim achieves martyrdom, is in the act of trying to kill another person! That is martyrs are made by a misfortune, or accident, of imperialistic conquest. Someone that dies in the act of killing for Mohammed's Allah. I don't believe there is any other way a Muslim can be "martyred".
So it is obvious that when some say they don't believe suicide bombing is not Islamic, they don't understand the Quran. The suicide bomber is no different than a guy with a sword that marches into battle. The identical goal is to kill as many people as one can before being killed in the process. The only difference is that in the case of the suicide bomber it happens simultaneously. Also I believe if the bomber misses his target and nobody is killed but himself, they believe he is headed to hell. Can you imagine a god like that!
Moslems even throw a party for the murderer, believing that his killing innocents and dying in the process, may provide propitiation for the sins of 70 of his nearest and dearest friends and relatives (like the guy that just killed the bus load of 24 children recently in Iraq).
Does anyone else know of any other type of martyrdom detailed in the Quran?
