Back in the 1980s when Jimmy Carter allowed the Iranians to to hold 60 American hostages for 444 days, that the Islamic antichrists had captured from the U.S. Embassy, the captors dropped the hostages like a hot potato and let them go upon Ronald Reagan's first day in office just hours after Reagan gave his inaugural address. That was no coincidence. They were stupid, but not stupid enough to not realize what would be visited upon them, by a conservative U.S. President.

Few things highlight the wrongheadedness of what Obama surprisingly and amusingly desires to be his "legacy" of guaranteeing that Iran becomes a nuclear power, than the most recent demand by Iran for billions of dollars, in exchange for yet more hostages that remain in Iran. Would any sane and rational person expect a different outcome, once a kidnapping nation State, has been paid off with ransom money?

Certainly few things are more Islamic than capturing and ransoming hostages since Muhammad enriched himself the same way, while recommending taking captives only after a great slaughter had been visited upon the formerly free people he was attacking:

Surah 8.67 (Pickthall) It is not fitting for a prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he hath made slaughter in the land.....

Narrated Anas: Some men of the Ansar asked for the permission of Allah's Apostle and said, "Allow us to give up the ransom from our nephew Al-'Abbas. The Prophet said (to them), "Do not leave (even) a Dirham (of his ransom)."  (Book #46, Hadith #714)

Abu Juhaifa said, "I asked, 'What is (written) in this sheet of paper?' Ali replied, it deals with The Diyya (compensation (blood money) paid by the killer to the relatives of the victim), the ransom for the releasing of the captives from the hands of the enemies, and the law that no Muslim should be killed in Qisas (equality in punishment) for the killing of (a disbeliever).  (Book #3, Hadith #111)

One ray of hope is that the last time Iran got in the business of taking U.S. hostages when Jimmy Carter was President, the day Ronald Reagan took office the Iranians let the hostages go because they weren't stupid enough to hold hostages, with a conservative President in power. Just like Obama, Jimmy Carter let the kidnappers dictate the terms of what he was to do, while he (typical of the Left) "negotiated". The Iranians knew the jig was up when Reagan got elected.
But now Obama is in an even worse position than Carter, because he has his ego, his entire presidency and his sense of self-worth, are tied up in the shocking "deal" he made with the Iranians. So he's stuck with egg all over his face as his true "legacy" becomes ever more apparent.

"Iran is seeking “many billions of dollars” in payments from the United States in exchange for the release of several U.S. hostages still being detained in Iran, according to reports by Iran’s state-controlled press that are reigniting debate over the Obama administration’s decision earlier this year to pay Iran $1.7 billion in cash.

Senior Iranian officials, including the country’s president, have been floating the possibility of further payments from the United States for months. Since the White House agreed to pay Tehran $1.7 billion in cash earlier this year as part of a deal bound up in the release of American hostages, Iran has captured several more U.S. citizens.

Future payments to Iran could reach as much as $2 billion, according to sources familiar with the matter, who said that Iran is detaining U.S. citizens in Iran’s notorious Evin prison where inmates are routinely tortured and abused.

Iranian news sources close to the country’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, which has been handling prisoner swaps with the United States, reported on Tuesday that Iran expects “many billions of dollars to release” those U.S. citizens still being detained.”

“We should wait and see, the U.S. will offer … many billions of dollars to release” American businessman Siamak Namazi and his father Baquer, who was abducted by Iran after the United States paid Iran the $1.7 billion, according to the country’s Mashregh News outlet, which has close ties to the IRGC’s intelligence apparatus.

Iran sentenced two Iranian-Americans to 10 years in prison each on spurious charges of spying. Siamak Namazi and his 80-year-old father Baquer both dual Iranian-American citizens, follow a long list of dual nationals arrested by the Islamic Republic and held on trumped-up charges.

Siamak was arrested last September, just a short time after the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers was accepted by all parties. His father, a retired official with the United Nations, was arrested in February while visiting his son in jail.

Ironically, Siamak, a businessman, was connected to the National Iranian American Council, a pro-regime lobby group in Washington, D.C. He spoke out against U.S. sanctions on Iran and advocated for closer business ties between the countries.

As pointed out by The Wall Street Journal, the recent payment by the U.S. to Iran of $1.7 billion in cash received on the day a number of U.S. hostages were released “has created an incentive for them to imprison more Americans to trade for some future concession.”

Even considering Siamak was promoting the Iranian regime, “the mullahs put their need for U.S. hostages above gratitude for such political assistance. Revolutions tend to devour their foreign sympathizers.”
