Below is a thread on another forum. I wanted to include this as an object lesson in how detached much of the "Christian" world has become with Christ. The OP opens up with the story included in the links above. The point was to gather support and prayer for our persecuted brethren around the world. But as you will see there was not so much as a mention of prayer on this page.
Note: The words in red I added here to help make the point.
Muslim lender forces Christian to sell kidney
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Pakistani Christian who borrowed money from his Muslim employer - at 400 percent interest - to send his daughter to college has been forced by the lender to sell a kidney to repay a portion of the debt.
The report today by compass Direct said John Gill, a machine operator at Shah Plastics in the Youhanabad area of Lahore, Pakistan, was taken to Ganga Ram hospital by "five armed men" and forced to sell a kidney against his will.
Gill borrowed 150,000 rupees, or about $1,760, from his employer, Ghulam Mustafa, in 2007. Compass Direct said Mstafa confirmed he took over Gill's home last week after giving the Christian two weeks to pay off the interest.
Mustafa came to Gill's home with about five armed men and transported him to Ganga Ram hospital, the Compass report said.

thank you Imam Shazuli
hmmmm can't seem to find a story about this that doesn't lead back to the same piece, so you all might want to save your outrage until you have more then one source. To me? It sounds like someone just read "The Merchant of Venice" and thought it would make an interesting propaganda piece with a few twists.

I am always suspect of a Christian thanking an Imam. #4 16th May 2010, 03:47 PM

If it is a true story then the man knew what he was getting into when he took the loan. Being a Christian doesn't mean that you will make good decisions.
NO mention of prayer for this poor man but rather an indictment against the Christian for having the "audacity" for borrowing money to help his daughter have a better life. #5 17th May 2010, 10:37 AM

If it did occur I wonder if the man were a muslim instead of Christian if this man could get by with such a "collection and return".

Nor does it make you immune form the consequences of your idiotic decisions... I mean really, 400% interest?!?
But kudos to the OP for holding Islam to blame for a Christian's stupidity... what do you expect when you go into default to a loan shark?
Imagine that. Someone held the ideology that endorses this kind of treatment responsible and these "christians" are incensed about the "idiotic decisions" the Christian made. #7 17th May 2010, 03:47 PM

What was he thinking?
??
Perhaps he was thinking he wanted his daughter to have a better life than him. #8 17th May 2010, 03:54 PM

Following some the links, the guy's boss said that he charged Muslims 50%.
It sounds like my old boss, on the railroad. He would loan guys money for 25 cents on the dollar. I saw some of these guys endorsing their check over to him and then borrow more money from him. What a racket.
I tried to help them but it was no use, they were bound and determined to stay in debt to him. For them, it was an insurance policy to keep their jobs. As long as he was making money off of them, he kept them around even when they could be fired.
Yeah. I'm sure that was the case here. He did this so for job security. Riiiight. #9 19th May 2010, 03:57 PM

if you think about it, this guy actually got off lightly... Most loansharks in the West simply break your legs if you can't pay; leaving you with a hospital bill on top of whatever you owed.
At least this guy's debt is paid, and he got hospitalization as part of the deal.
Yeah. Lucky him. He got major unnecessary surgery that shortened his lifespan out of the deal to pay off a grossly unfair debt.
I wanted to show people here how callous and evil some "christians" can be. There ecuminism has taken such a severe turn that a humanist has more value for human life than these people do.
God help these people.
