Introduction
« on: June 29, 2012, 06:48:10 AM »
Hi everybody,

I am a newbie here. I want to get some interaction with Christian apologists, especially with a burden for the Muslims.

I have been a Christian, born again for the last 25 years.
I come from an occult background and have been active in working with people from the cults and the occult. Now my attention is mostly on Islam which I see as a major threat to the whole world.

If my spelling goes wonky, please bear with me, my eyesight is not that good and my typing is even worse.

I look forward to many interesting discussions.

God bless you.

Peter

Good morning brother, and welcome to the forum! :)

Hi everybody,

I am a newbie here. I want to get some interaction with Christian apologists, especially with a burden for the Muslims.

I have been a Christian, born again for the last 25 years.
I come from an occult background and have been active in working with people from the cults and the occult.

One of our forum members, Cephyr13, was called to that area of ministry (though he may have hit burn-out). Here's a chat including some of his posts in the book section, posted under Ellis Skolfield's free book "Shining Man With Hurt Hands".

Now my attention is mostly on Islam which I see as a major threat to the whole world.

Indeed. The reason I didn't attend to your thread earlier was I was trying to wake the church up a little, but after devoting a few years full-time in Christian forums I recognized it as a pretty futile endeavor. The Lord gradually led me into ministry to Muslims.
I kinda look at my efforts as a slap em upside the head and shake em by the lapels thing, to inspire that first spark of cognitive dissonance. Then folks like muslims4Jesus and exmuslims can take over from there, once they genuinely start seeking truth.

I believe the most important place to begin is to take them straight to the foot of the cross by making sure they understand that Muhammad proclaimed the EXACT OPPOSITE of the WHOLE SUBJECT of the Gospel. That they are filled with complete resolve as to what to DISbelieve. Specifically to proclaim Christ WAS NOT crucified, to DENY the Son of God, and to REJECT the blood that would save them.

Unfortunately they don't respond to posts like that, so then I follow up with exposing Islam through their own books, as well as the absence of history of Mecca from before the 4th century AD, and the demographic and geographical impossibility of Abraham ever having set foot where Mecca was eventually built, anyway.

Recently I noticed the CARM forum while doing a web search, so I thought I would pop in and post a little. I began with this post:
http://forums.carm.org/vbb/showthread.php?88737-Allah-s-huge-mistake&p=3041746#post3041746
It received one comment by a "Christian" that was so interested in being combative with a fellow Christian, that he completely ignored the fact that the thread was posted in the Islam section. I continued to watch and post a little as the Muslim-Christian "dialogue" went on day after day, and then after I increased my number of posts beyond the intro level, I dropped a bomb in the form of a thread, regarding rape of captives by Muhammad and his boys.
http://forums.carm.org/vbb/showthread.php?105398-Rape-of-Captives-and-Slaves-in-Islam
It's over 42 hours now, and not a Muslim, nor any of the combative Christians, have uttered a peep throughout the entirety of the Islam section. That thread basically shut it down. All the "bible is corrupted" "Jesus is not God" "Muhammad is the greatest messenger" yakkity yack, tit for tat, between the Muslims and Christians ceased.

I just have to believe that those Muslims are taking a long hard look at just what they believe, and particularly the character of the stand-alone reprobate and self-admitted terrorist they follow.

If my spelling goes wonky, please bear with me, my eyesight is not that good and my typing is even worse.

Just in case you weren't aware, you can hold down your ctrl key and push the + key on your keyboard, and it enlarges the font on any page. You can hold ctrl and push the + key over and over and the font will get bigger and bigger. Hold the ctrl key and push the - key to reduce it.

Also, I set my screen resolution down near the lowest setting, which makes everything larger, icons on your desktop, fonts, youtube pages, this forum page, everything. Yet I don't notice any change in clarity, like blurriness or graininess. It does require a little more vertical scrolling. If you reduce the resolution too far, then the bottom scroller bar will also appear, and it is too much of a hassle to handle both. And no need to, when you can simply ctrl + it larger!

My screen resolution is currently set at 1024 by 768. Things are squished slightly flatter, but it's sure easier to see stuff! Particularly after burning my eyes out for 8-12 hours on the computer.

I look forward to many interesting discussions.

God bless you.

Once again brother, welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the kind tips on changing font size. I have recently had an assessment about geting back to work and should be receiving lots of gadgets to assist me :)

I had a look at the posts of Cephyr13 and the things he talks about are outside of my experience. I don't think I can relate to them or comment.

My experience tends towards the old fashioned witchcraft and the new fangled witchcraft of the New Age, I know nothing about psychology other than what a reasonably educated person might know. I am certainly no expert in this field.

I do have a some first hand experience with spiritual warfare and discerment of spirits, something sprang to my mind when I read another member talking about the UK and the hostile reception he felt. I may chat with him if he is ok about it.

Thankks again for the great tips!

That would be apollodorus. He is our resident atheist. A respectful guy I met on youtube, who may be an atheist but he isn't so blind he can't recognize Islam as evil, as well as taking over Europe. He seemed to consider some spiritual matters as they came up, without the typical knee-jerk responses of other atheists that insist on maintaining self-imposed ignorance, but he likely won't be much of a conversationalist in regard to spiritual matters. He hasn't been around for a while, but if you quote a little of what he wrote somewhere, and reply to it, he may get an email notification when his thread is responded to.
