The blindness and capitulation all around is shocking isn't it? Like what you posted on Merkle yesterday. But it can't be blindness or ignorance in this case can it? How could the Pope and hierarchy of the Roman Church be ignorant to the Quran? Can such falsehood be motivated by anything other than fear? Imagine the constructive dialogue the Pope could begin if he warned them they are all antichrists instead. If he told them that unless they believed in the shed blood of the Lamb of God, that they do not believe in Jesus. I think their mutual veneration of Mary, and collective isolation there through, may have a lot to do with their wishing they were in the same club.
