I wrote this. It is an incomplete work. I started it for a Herbew School paper in The Fall of 1997. I expanded on it many times since on my personal website. It ends with ideas incorporated from JTF including a quote from JTF about Islam.
I know there are errors since I learned a lot since I originally wrote it. One day I will go over it.

I The Creation of The Universe to The End of The Middle Ages
Science and Judaism are very much alike. It takes a good Orthodox Jewish scientist to bring out the truth about The World. A secular scientist doesn't connect the two. An Orthodox rabbi doesn't care about proof besides The Bible. What I am writing about will combine my opinion, Science, History, and Jewish belief of the truth about what happened in The World from the year 0 to the year 5765 as well as what will happen in the future from a Modern Orthodox, Historical, and Scientific point of view. I will start with before The Universe was created up until The Messianic Age.
Before G-d created The Universe, there was chaos. Then in 17,000,000,000 B.C.E., G-d decided to cause The Big Bang Theory to happen and started it. Now, The Universe was empty accept for the dust which later became water. One day He decided to create angels. These angels assisted Him in the rest of the creation of The Universe. G-d turned all the dust into water. The Universe began to expand. Star after star started being created when little bits of the water became plasma. Solar systems around these stars started the same way our Solar System started. I will give Biblical and secular time. The reason the time is different is because G-d wanted to say The World was created in 6 days, making the holiday of Shabbat every Seventh Day. The reason for people living for hundreds of years in the first 2 parashot of The Torah, was because then the time started moving slower than it did in Biblical time, as opposed to the time moving faster than Biblical time during evolution. The next paragraph is about the first paragraph of The Torah portion Beresh*t.
At first The World was "unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the deep and a wind from G-d sweeping over the water". This is Genesis 1:2. This is the beggining of The Solar System. The theory of the beginning of The Solar System says that The World was created when a ball of dust swept out from a developing star, The Sun. The dust that The Earth came from was water. This water was the only thing in our Solar System. This is proven in Genesis 1:2. Then in Genesis 1:3, G-d said "Let there be light.", and there was light. This is the formation of The Sun, formed from water, heated into the plasma state by G-d. G-d then called the light Day, and the dark Night. This is the end of the first day in Biblical time. Not mentioned by G-d in The Torah is the creation of the rest of the planets the very same day. After The Sun turned into plasma from water, it shot out plasma which froze as it got further away from The Sun. It formed balls which became the planets in this order: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. They each developed at their own pace, but only Earth is mentioned in The Torah because The Torah is the story of the buildup of The Earth focusing in on The Jewish Nation. Also at this time, comets were created, along with meteroids, and astroids. The year on the secular calender was now 4,500,000,000 B.C.E.. The next paragraph is about The Second Day.
On the Second Day, nothing much happened. G-d said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the water, that it may seperate water from water.". G-d then made the expanse, and it separated the water which was below the expanse from the water which was above the expanse from the water which was above the expanse. And it was so. G-d called the expanse Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, a Second Day. This is Genesis 1:6-8. This is the creation of The Earth. The expanse is the atmosphere of The Earth. The water which was inside the atmosphere then became the oceans. They then imidiatly droped down to the bottom of The Earth due to gravitational force from The Sun which was created the day before. On this day, all the planets became planets as they cooled off and developed atmospheres.
On the Third Day, G-d said, "Let the water below the sky be gathered into one area, that the dry land may appear.". This happened over millions of years scinentifically. G-d called the new dry land Earth, and and the waters Seas. Not mentioned is that at that point G-d made microscopic one cell organisms, which were created out of organic material. The year was 1,000,000,000 B.C.E.. Some of these spread on land. Then G-d said, "Let The Earth sprout vegetaion: seed-bearing plants, fruit trees of every kind on Earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.". Also this day, G-d made seaweed, which evolved from the microscopic one cell organisms which fish later evolved from. This is the end of The Third Day.
On The Fourth Day, G-d made The Moon and the stars. The Torah also says that G-d made The Sun. This means that this day lasting over millions of years, was the day that The Moon and stars became visible from Earth. The Moon itself and The Sun itself were created on The First Day and the stars were actually created during The Big Bang Theory. The Sun was visible since The First Day but only through the clouds. However, The Moon and the stars weren't visible because of the cloud covering The Earth's skys. The Sun's light was powerful enough to get through these clouds. The Moon itself was probably created when something hit The Earth and broke off a chunk of The Earth. This chunk broke off and turned into The Moon. There is also another theory that says that Earth's gravity caught a flying rock, probably a meteroid. This can all be explained by G-d saying that He created a bright light for the day time and a lesser light for the night time. This means that the 2 lights became distiguished as 2 seperate lights, while before there was only 1 light distinguishable and another light not visible from Earth.
On The Fifth Day, G-d created fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds which were actually flying reptiles, and insects. Later birds themselves were made. This is the start of evolution. Fish evolved from seaweed. Also, on this day, some fish developed the need to leave the water. They became amphibians. This made them be able to live inside the water and outside the water. Now, I will give the secular time. In 600,000,000 B.C.E., soft-bodied invertebrates of the sea appeared on Earth. In 460,000,000 B.C.E. these invertebrates spead on to land. In 420,000,000 B.C.E. higher forms of plant life began to appear on Earth. In 400,000,000 B.C.E. the main groups of fish are differentiated. In 350,000,000 B.C.E., G-d made amphibians, primitive insects, which evolved from one cell microscopic organisms on land, and forests first appeared. In 300,000,000 B.C.E. reptiles evolved from amphibians, after they developed the need to only live outside the water. Some reptiles developed wings and were able to fly. Eventually, in 175,000,000 B.C.E., they turned into birds. These were the first warm-blooded animals. Previously, all animals were cold-blooded.
On The Sixth Day, G-d made mammals. This was around 150,000,000 B.C.E.. Mammals of the sea such as whales evolved from fish such as sharks. Other mammals specifically canines, evolved from whales after developing the need to get on to dry land. However, the majority of mammals evolved from reptiles. All mammals were and still are today warm-blooded. Early on, on this day, in 100,000,000 B.C.E., reptiles dominated The Earth. This is when the dinosaurs lived. The dinosaurs lived until 65,000,000 B.C.E. when they became extinct. That is when The Age of Mammals, which extends to the present, begins.
Eventually, these mammals got more and more advanced. Some turned into Plesiadapiformes, which are pre-primates. These pre-primates were common in The Western United States and Western Europe. Most of them were small, squirrellike animals. Some of them were adopted to life in the trees. In 45,000,000 B.C.E., primates themselves were created. They lived in Tropical Africa and Asia. They were similar to modern lemurs and tarsiers, and spread into North America and Europe.
In 22,000,000 B.C.E., Propliopithecus, a monkeylike primate the size of a cat first appeared in Africa. Also around around this time a variety of primates with monkeylike limbs and bodies, but apelike jaws and teeth, lived in Africa. These primates are believed to be the anscestors of hominins. As the climate of Earth changed these primates became rarer. There were 2 species that survived the climate changes. 1 was Oreopithecus which lived in swampy forests on islands in The Mediterranean Sea about 10,000,000 B.C.E.. They showed the long arms and broad chest of an ape or human. Another primate, Graecopithecus, has similar features. Between 4,500,000 B.C.E. and 1,000,000 B.C.E., Australopithecus and Ardipithecus lived in Africa. Eventually some evolved into the genus Homo.
In about 2,500,000 B.C.E. the first primates of the genus Homo evolved. Homo Rudolfensis, the species of that time which modern people later evolved from spread out of East Africa into Asia around 1,900,000 B.C.E.. By about 1,800,000 B.C.E. Homo Rudolfensis evolved into Homo Erectus. Homo Erectus lived in the warmer parts of Africa, Asia, and Europe. They used tools and discovered fire around 500,000 B.C.E..
In 400,000 B.C.E., Homo Erectus evolved into Archaic Homo Sapiens. They lived in Africa, Europe, and East Asia. By 100,000 B.C.E., Homo Sapiens evolved further characteristics of modern humans. All Pre-Adam people are descended from a group of these Homo Sapiens from Africa. They spread around Africa and Asia. The first race to appear that can't be traced to the descendants of Noah are The Orientals of Eastern Asia. From this race, certain members arrived in Australia about 75,000 B.C.E.. This is the start of the race of The Aborigines, the native people of Australia. They reached Tasmania, an island state of Australia lying to The South around 35,000 B.C.E.. Since these 2 races were already well established before Adam and Noah, they are people, but not the Hebrew term for people, Ben Adam, which means Son of Adam.
Early Pre-Adam people arrived in Europe around 40,000 B.C.E.. Pre-Adam people also spread around Africa. Around 10,000 B.C.E., Orientals spread out of Siberia across a land bridge where The Bering Strait now lies into North America and would spread all around the continent eventually reaching South America. These people became American Indians. It was a land bridge because the many glaciers from The Ice Age hadn't melted yet because The Ice Age wasn't over yet. Since these people are also part of the same race as Orientals, they are also not Ben Adam. The only other non Ben Adam people are The Polynesians, Micronesians, and Melanesians, the natives of Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia, the islands of The Pacific Ocean, because they too are decsendants of Orientals.
Until now, early humans had been nomadic people. They soon began to stay in 1 area and domesticated plants and animals. Civilizations began to emerge. The most advanced of these was in what is now Iraq. This was the perfect time for G-d to create a spiritual human being with a soul, a person who would be a common ancestor to Africans, Europeans, and Asians from the Eastern shore of The Meditarranean Sea to India. This would be Adam. When the time came Adam was created. When one of the most advanced Pre-Adam people died, its body rotted and decayed as any animal does when it dies. Eventually it was just bones and turned into dust. G-d blew into his nostrils, and the dust turned into Adam. Also, by this, all other people that already existed recieved souls. If you go by Biblical time, this happened in 3760 B.C.E.. But by scientific time, it happened around 3000 B.C.E., giving 50 years in between the births of each of the 20 generations before Abraham who was born around 2000 B.C.E. in scientific time. That is the end of The Sixth Day.
On The Seventh Day, which was actually 1 period of 24 hours, G-d rested, and that is why we have the holiday of Shabbat. The following actually happened on The Sixth Day but is only recorded afterwards in The Torah after it says that G-d rested. Coninuing with The Sixth Day, G-d then made The Garden of Eden. It had a stream which divided into 4 rivers. The first was The Pishon River. It went around Havilah, which is North East of Arabia, on The Persian Gulf. In Havilah, there was gold. The second was The Gihon River. Genesis 2:13 says it circles Cush, which is Ethiopia, but it probably means some territory in Asia. The third is The Tigris River, which goes towards Ashur, which is Asyria, and possibly includes Babylonia. The fourth was The Euphrates River. Thru this description we can see that The Garden of Eden is in Iraq.
G-d placed Adam in The Garden of Eden and commanded, "Of every tree of the garden you are free to eat; but as for The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad, you must not eat of it; for as soon as you eat of it, you shall die.". G-d told Adam that isn't good for man to be alone, so Adam named all the animals but he couldn't find a helper. So G-d cast a deep sleep upon Adam; and, while he slept, He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that spot. G-d fashioned the rib that He had taken from the man into a woman; and He brought her to the man. Adam said, "This one at last is bone of bones, and flesh of my flesh. This one shall be called Woman, for from Man was she taken.". Hence a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, so that they become one flesh. This comes from Genesis 2:18-24. There is no scientific proof of this, we just have to accept it how it is written. This is the only thing in The Bible without scientific proof.
This woman was Eve. Adam and Eve were naked and felt no shame because they didn't realize yet that they were naked. Eve started talking to a snake, and the snake told her that if she ate from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad her eyes would open and she would be able to see and be like divine beings who know good and bad. So Eve ate from the tree. She also gave some to Adam and he ate it too. Their eyes then opened and they realized they were naked and made clothes and put them on.
Then G-d called down to Adam and said, "Where are you?". Adam replied, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.". Then G-d asked, Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat of the tree from which I had forbidden you to eat?". Adam replied that Eve gave him fruit from the tree and he ate it.
G-d then told the snake, "Because you did this, more cursed shall you be than all the cattle, and all the wild beasts. On your belly shall you crawl and dirt shall you eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers. They shall strike at your head, and you shall strike at their heel.". This is how snakes reached their present state.
He told Eve, "I will make most severe your pangs in childbearing. In pain shall you bear children. Yet your urge shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.". Until now, women with souls would not have pain in childbearing, but now because Eve did this all women with souls would once again give birth like the women who didn't have souls. Also, this is why men have control over their wives.
He told Adam, "Because you did as your wife said and ate of the tree about which I commanded you, 'You shall not eat of it.', cursed be the ground because of you; by toil shall you eat of it. All the days of you life: Thorns and thistles shall it sprout for you. But your food shall be the grasses of the field; by the weat of your brow shall you get bread to eat, until you return to the ground--for from it you were taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.". Until now, people with souls would not die, but because of this everyone with souls will once again die like people without souls did.
G-d then make clothes for them and they put it on. G-d thought, "What if he should stretch out his hand and take also from The Tree of Life and eat, and live forever?". So G-d banished them from The Garden of Eden, so he (Adam) could till the soil from which he was taken. They now joined the other people of Mesopotamia, who had recieve souls when Adam was created.
All the events involved with the eating of the fruit from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad happened Friday Afternoon (The Sixth Day) but G-d let them stay in The Garden of Eden for Shabbat (The Seventh Day) and the actual expulsion happened after Shabbat. Everything after this happened on The Eighth Day and after.
After the expulsion from The Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had their first son, Cain. Then they had their second son, Abel. G-d had respect for Abel's offerings unto Him, but He didn't have respect for Cain's offerings. Cain grew jealous of Abel and killed him. Cain then started talking to G-d about the killing and Cain said to G-d that someone would kill him when he wanders The Earth, so G-d put a mark on him so no one would kill him. Cain then left G-d's presence to the land of Nod.
Cain then married a woman that was descended from the people that were around before Adam and Eve. They had a son named Enoch. The rest of the people did the same until there were enough descendants of Cain that they could marry each other. It is also possible that they could have married their sisters.
Enoch had a son named Irad. Irad had a son named Mehujael. Mehujael had a son named Methushael. Methushael had a son named Lamech. Lamech had 2 wives, Adah and Zillah. Adah bore him Jabal and Jubal. Zillah bore him a son and a daughter. The son was Tubalcain and the daughter was Naamah. Naamah was Noah's wife. At this time, Adam and Eve had another son, Seth. The descendants of Cain were evil, but the descendants of Seth were good and men once again called upon The Name of The Lord.
Seth had a son named Enosh. Enosh had a son named Kenan. Kenan had a son named Mahalalel. Mehalalel had a son named Jared. Jared had a son named Enoch. Enoch had a son named Methuselah. Methuselah had a son named Lamech. Lamech was the father of Noah, so he had Noah.
This was at about 2500 B.C.E.. Noah had 3 sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. At this time The World had become corrupt, esepecially sexually. Men took what ever wives they chose. People's thoughts were evil. G-d was sorry that He had made people. G-d decided that He wanted to destroy all people and animals. But Noah found grace in the eyes of G-d.
In Parashat Noah, G-d tells Noah of his plans to destroy The World. In destroying The World, G-d means that he will destroy the areas of The Middle East mentioned so far in The Torah. In destroying mankind, He actually destroyed the literal decendants of Adam and Eve for they are the ones that have commited evil. All other people will stay alive to replenish The Earth with Noah's grandchildren after The Flood.
G-d commanded Noah to build an ark of gopher wood. He also commanded Noah to bring his wife, his sons, and his sons' wives along with a male and female of every animal on to the ark. Since the whole World was not literally destroyed, he just brought a symbolic sampling of animals onto the ark.
They all got onto the ark. They were there for 7 days, and on the 7th day, G-d made it rain for 40 days and 40 nights. The Torah says that it caused a flood over the whole Earth, but scientifically just over lands in The Middle East mentioned so far. The waters stayed their highest point for 110 days. They stayed on The Earth for 150 days total before they began to diminish.
In the 7th month, on the 17th day of the month, the ark rested on Mount Ararat which is in Eastern Turkey. The waters started to decrease more and on the first day of the 10th month, the tops of the mountains were seen. 40 days later, Noah opened the window of the ark. He sent a dove to see if the waters abated but it couldn't find anywhere to land. 7 days later, he sent the dove again, and it came back with an olive leaf. Noah knew the waters were abated. 7 days later he sent the dove again but this time it didn't return. 2 months after the tops of the mountains had become visible, Noah opened up the ark and the land was dry. Then G-d told Noah to bring his family and all the animals off of the ark, so he did.
G-d blessed Noah and his sons and told them to replenish The Earth. G-d then made a convenant with Noah establishing The Seven Laws of Noah that apply to all of mankind, Jewish and Non-Jewish. In acceptance of the convenant, G-d made a rainbow in the sky promising never to destroy The Earth again. After rainstorms, rainbows symbolize that convenant. There may have been rainbows before that, but from then on, they were to symbolize G-d's convenant with Noah.
Later on, Noah planted a vineyard and got drunk. He was naked and Ham saw him and laughed. Shem and Japheth came and walked backwards and covered their father. They walked backwards so they couldn't see him naked. When Noah awoke from the wine, he cursed Ham, and his son Canaan. Noah said: "Cursed by Canaan. A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. Blessed be The Lord, The G-d of Shem, and let Canaan be their servant. G-d enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be their servant.".
The curse of Ham and the blessing of Shem and Japheth fortells the future, and gives an explanation to History up to the present. Ham is the father of Africa, which explains why European imperialists colonized Africa. It also tells why blacks in Africa were sold as slaves, because Noah said "A servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.". It also explains why Africa is poor and disease ridden. It also explains the condition of poor blacks in other countries. Since Ham is also the spiritual father of all people not literally descended from Adam and Noah, this can also explain the condition in their countries. The blessing of Shem is because The Jews are descended from Shem. Japheth's blessing explains why his descendants, Europe, have expanded all over The World. "He shall dwell in the tents of Shem" means that The Japhites and The Semites should have friendly relations.
Japheth had 7 sons: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Yavan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. Gomer is the father of The Cimmerians, a nation on the shores of The Caspian Sea. Magog is the father of The Scythians, a nation on the borders of The Caucasus. Madai is the father of The Medes. Yavan is the father of The Ionians and therefore the father of Greece. Yavan means Greece in Hebrew.
Gomer had 3 sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. Ashkenaz is the father of a nation in Armenia. Later on, Ashkenaz came to denote Germany, hence Ashkenazic Jews. Riphath and Togarmah are the fathers of nations in Asia Minor.
Yavan had 4 sons: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. Elishah may be the father of Hellas or a nation in Southern Italy, Sicily, or Cyprus. Tarshish was the father of Tartessus, a nation with a flourishing wealthy seaport. It was located in ancient Spain. Kittim is the father of a nation of Phoenician extraction that inhabited part of the island of Cyprus. Dodanim is the father of the nation inhabiting The Rhodian Islands in The Aegean Sea.
The descendants of Japheth are the fathers of The Indo-European Sub-Race of The Caucasian Race. They spread out into all of Europe and all Caucasian parts of Asia that are not Semitic or Hamitic lands. This means they spread out into the parts of Asia around The Caucasus into parts of The Middle East such as Iran, and Central Asia such as former Soviet republics, parts of Asian Russia, and Afghanistan, as well as Pakistan and Northern India. This is the spread out of The Indo-Europeans from The Caucasus after The Flood. This includes the Ayran conquest of Northern India. All the people already living in these lands that were not effected by The Flood and are not literal descendants of Adam and Noah were then absorbed by The Japhites and became Japhites and therefore spiritual decsendants of Adam, Noah, and Japheth.
Ham had 4 sons: Cush, Mitzraim, Put, and Canaan. Cush is the father of Ethiopia. Cush is the ancient name for Ethiopia. Mitzraim is the father of Egypt. Mitzraim means Egypt in Hebrew. Put is the father of Lybia.
Cush had 6 sons: Seva, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca, and Nimrod. All of these with the exception of Nimrod are the fathers of nations on the African coast of The Red Sea or the opposite Red Sea shore of Arabia. Raamah had 2 sons: Sheba and Dedan. Sheba was a nation in Southern Arabia.
Nimrod had a kingdom which first included Babel (Babylon), Erech (A Babylonian city on the left bank of the lower Euphrates.), Accad (A city in Northern Babylonia.), and Calneh which is in the land of Shinar (A Hebrew name for Babylonia and could be Sumir, the land of The Sumerians.). The kingdom then expanded and built Nineveh (The capital of Asyria.), Rechovot-Ir, Calach, and Resen (Between Nineveh and Calach.). The 4 cities costituted together one great city.
Mitzraim has 6 sons: Ludim, Anamim, Lehavim (The Lybians), Naphtuchim (The dwellers of The Nile Delta.), Patrusim (The population of Upper Egypt, Patros.), and Casluchim. From Casluchim, came The Philistines (Egyptian Philistines) and Caphtorim (The inhabitants of Crete, where other Philistines came from.).
Two of Canaan's sons are Zidon and Chet. Zidon was the capital of ancient Phoenicia and stands for the whole country. Chet is The Hittites. From Canaan also came forth The Jebusites (A tribe that dwelt in around Jerusalem, which was originally knows as Jebus.), The Amorites (This can refer to The Canaanites as a whole and sometimes one particular warlike tribe.), The Girgash*tes (One of the peoples driven from Canaan by The Israelites.), The Hivites, The Arkites, The Sinites, The Arvadites, The Zemarites, and The Hamatites (Hamat in Syria, was at one time the capital of a strong kingdom.). The last 6 tribes mentioned in the last sentence lived in greater or less proximity to Mt. Lebanon. The borders of The Canaanites were from Zidon in The North to Gaza in The South, and from Sodom and Gomorrah in The South East to Lasha in The North East.
The descendants of Ham are the fathers of Caucasian Middle Easterners whom are neither Semites nor Japhites such as Arabs, as well as Negro Africans of East Africa. These Non-Semitic and Non-Japhitic Caucasians spread out into all of North Africa, all over Hamitic parts of Arabia, all over Hamitic parts of the rest of The Middle East, and all over Hamitic Caucasian parts of the rest of Asia. All the people already living in these lands that were not effected by The Flood and are not literal descendants of Adam and Noah were then absorbed by The Caucasian Hamites and became Hamites and therefore spiritual decsendants of Adam, Noah, and Ham. Ham is therefore the father or spiritual father of all Non-Semitic and all Non-Japhitic Caucasians.
The East African Negro descendants of Ham spread out into all of Sub-Sahara Africa. All Negros already living in Sub-Sahara Africa that were not effected by The Flood and are not literal descendants of Adam and Noah were then absorbed by The Negro Hamites and became Hamites and therefore spiritual decsendants of Adam, Noah, and Ham. Ham is therefore the father or spiritual father of The Negro Race.
In addition to Ham being the father or spiritual father of all Non-Semitic and Non-Japhitic Caucasians and The Negro Race, Ham is also the spiritual father of the entire Oriental Race including all its sub-races as well as The Aborigine Race which were not effected by The Flood and are not literal descendants of Adam and Noah. Therefore, through Ham, all Orientals and Aborigines are also spiritual descendants of Adam and Noah.
Shem had 5 sons: Elam, Ashur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. Elam is the father of a nation beyond Babylonia and The Persian Gulf that is the most Eastern Semitic people. Ashur is the father of The Asyrians. Arpachshad is the father of Ur of The Chaldaeans. Lud is the father of The Lydians of Asia Minor. Aram is the father of The Aramaeans of Mesopotamia.
Aram had 4 sons: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. Uz is the father of a nation where Job lived as well as The Edomites. Hul, Gether, and Mash are the fathers of unidentified localities in Syria.
Arpachshad had a son named Shelach. Shelach had a son named Eber. Eber had 2 sons: Peleg and Joktan. Peleg was called Peleg because it means division in Hebrew since the population of The Earth was scattered (After The Tower of Babel.) in his days. Plagu means canal in Asyrian so Peleg might also refer to the introduction of a system of canals into Babylonia in Peleg's days.
Joktan had 13 sons: Almodad, Sheleph, Hatzermavet, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Oval, Avimael, Sheba, Ofir, Havilah, and Yovav. Joktan is the father of Southern Arabians. Hatzermavet is the nation of Hadramaut, a land in Southern Arabia. The descendants of Joktan dwelled from Mesha, towards Sephar, unto the mountain of The East.
The descendants of Shem are the fathers of The Semitic Sub-Race of The Caucasian Race. They spread out into all areas of The Middle East that are not Japhetic or Hamitic lands. All the people already living in these lands that were not effected by The Flood and are not literal descendants of Adam and Noah were then absorbed by The Semites and became Semites and therefore spiritual decsendants of Adam, Noah, and Shem.
The further lineage of Shem is recorded later on in The Torah so I will list it when I get up to that part of The Torah.
The peoples of The Earth were of one language and of one speech. An explanation for this is that the peoples of The Middle East had few words, meaning they had a small vocabulary. They journeyed East and found a plain in the land of Shinar and dwelt there. This plain was the territory of Babylon, which consisted of an almost unbroken plain. Shinar was the site of the cradle of the earliest civilization. These people said to each other: "Come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly.". They had brick for stone and slime for mortar. Clay bricks were the material for building in Babylon. They were burned rather than dried in The Sun to make them more durable. The slime was bitumen, an asphalt of Asia Minor used in ancient times as a cement and mortar. The people then said: "Come, let us build us a city, and a tower, with its top in Heaven, and let us make us a name; lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole Earth.". By Heaven, they were exaggerating and by a name, they meant that if they all dwelt together, they would be powerful and become renowned. G-d came down to the city and the tower, which the children of built. He said: "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one languge; and this is what they begin to do; and now nothing will be withheld from them, which they purpose to do. Come, us go down, and there counfound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.". This means G-d gave different groups of these people new vocabulary so they wouldn't understand each other. This is how different Middle Eastern languages started. G-d then scattered them upon all of The Earth, meaning different parts of The Middle East. Therefore this tower is called The Tower of Babel because there, did G-d confound the langauge of all The Earth. Babel comes from the Hebrew word "balal", to confound, and the Asyrian name means "Gate of G-d".
The Tower of Babel was a Babylonian ziggurat, a pyramidal, stepped temple tower that is an architectural and religious structure characteristic of the major cities of Mesopotamia from about 2200 B.C.E. until 500 B.C.E.. Zigguats were always built with a core of mud brick and an exterior covered with baked brick. This is the same description of bricks used to build The Tower of Babel. The Tower of Babel was the ziggurat of the great temple of Marduk in Babylon.
Peleg had a son named Reu. Reu had a son named Serug. Serug had a son named Nahor. Nahor had a son named Terah. Terah was Abraham's father so he had Abraham and Abraham's 2 brothers, Nahor and Haran.
This was around 2000 B.C.E.. Terah and his sons lived in Ur of The Chaldees. Haran had a son named Lot. Haran died in Ur during Terah's lifetime. Abraham married Sarah. Nahor married Milcah. Milcah was the daughter of Haran. Milcah's sister's name was Iscah.
Terah took Abraham, Sarah, and Lot with him from Ur to Haran. Haran was a town on the highway from Mesopotamia to The West. It was the converging point of the commerical routes from Babylon in The South, Nineveh in The East, and Damascus in The West. Terah died in Haran (He actually died 60 Biblical years after Abraham's departure from Haran which I will write about in the next paragraph.).
