We welcome Gary Miller to come and answer the following question:

Gary, does Fahad's suggestion that Psalms 84, rather than being about YHWH's people going on pilgrimage to their temple that He had them build on the temple mount in IN ZION, in Jerusalem, in THE Holy Land of the prophets and patriarchs, was instead about their wandering across 1400 kilometers of harsh, dry, barren desert wasteland to march around the Quraish's Kaaba in Mecca, over two thousand years before the Quraish built the Kaaba in the 5th century AD, over a thousand years before the historical record tells us there was a caravan route along the Red Sea in Arabia?

Whatcha wanna bet that Gary Miller is actually Fahad? ;)

"Step aside, Obama, the bear has been poked.

IB Times  Isis (now known as Islamic State) has released a new video threatening Russian President Vladimir Putin that it plans to come to Russia and “free Chechnya”. The video footage, believed to be filmed in the Taqba airbase captured from Syrian government forces in Raqqa, shows an IS terrorist in a military jet.

“This message is for you, Vladimir Putin! These are the aircraft you sent to Bashar [Assad], and we’re going to send them to you. Remember that!” he said. “This is Russian technology,” said a militant with a Russian voice, according to The Moscow Times.
“We will with the consent of Allah free Chechnya and all of the Caucasus! The Islamic State is here and will stay here, and it will spread with the grace of Allah!” another militant warns. The militant then addressed Putin, adding: “Your throne has already been shaken, it is under threat and will fall with our arrival [in Russia] … We’re already on our way with the permission of Allah!”

If IS tries to attack Russia, it won't go well for them. Putin will squash any offensive they attempt, and might even decide to do what our administration refuses to do, and that is wipe them out.

One of the reasons I was gone for so long was the browsers on the computer I use for personal stuff kept crashing as soon as I would open them. It had something to do with an add-on or plug-in. I upgraded my anti-virus program and it seems to have corrected a lot of the problem. There are still some issues with the plug-in container in Firefox, and until I have the time to research it and apply a solution, I'm using IE. Chrome thinks I'm not connected to the internet, so it may be a router firewall issue blocking it.

Since the days of Muhammad there have been NINE titular heads to the Islamic world. Those religious/governmental heads were called caliphates. A couple were recognized by the West like the al Rashid dynasty and the the Ottoman Empire, the rest were pretty much ignored. Their list appears below . . .

1.1 Rashidun, 632â€"661
1.2 Umayyads, 7thâ€"8th centuries
1.2a The Caliphate in Hispania
1.3 Abbasids, 8thâ€"13th centuries
1.4 Fatimids, 10thâ€"12th centuries
1.5 Shadow Caliphate, 13thâ€"16th centuries
1.6 Ottomans, 16thâ€"20th century
1.7 Sokoto, 19th century
1.8 Ahmadiyya Caliphate, 1908-Present
1.9 Khilafat Movement of, 1920

The above list is accepted by most Islamic scholars and to date there have been NINE. It was those caliphates who sent the 300,000 man Islamic Army of Abdel-Rahman, first into Khazaria and later to the Battle of Tours in 732 A.D.. Then in 1668 A.D., sent Kara Mustapha with a 275,000 man army to the Battle of Vienna. If God had not given victory to Christian forces in any of those three battles, you and your family would be speaking Arabic and praying five times a day on your little prayer rugs, facing Mecca!

The Caliphate movement ended in 1924.

So is ISIL, now rampaging in the Middle East, significant? Well, fundamental Islam under the banner of ISIL is once again trying to establish a worldwide Islamic Caliphate!

Today's ISIL would be a minor sideshow were it not that fundamental Muslims from all over the world, including from Canada and the United States, are flocking to join them in jihad. ISIL's sights are on the US and Israel and "Israel National News" reported that the ISIL banner was flying on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem during their rally on the site. Only history will show whether ISIL is the final 10th caliphate or not, but the organization is well-funded by Qatar and its brutal, genocidal influence is spreading rapidly.

It is the caliphates, titular heads of Middle Eastern Islam, that are the 10 horns of the Leopard-Bear-Lion beast!!!

It is ISIL itself, not the countries over which they are gaining control that, as we currently understand Scripture, represents the 10th HORN of the Leopard-Bear-Lion Islamic beast!

I believe Ellis has hit a home run here. It really ties it all together.

However, I prefer to not use the Acronym ISIL, as it stands for  Islamic State of Iraq and Levant., with Levant being the land bridge between Turkey and Egypt. The land that Israel sits on is a part of that land bridge, so referring to ISIS as ISIL is to say that Israel is not recogniseed as a sovreign nation, but is under Islamic rule. This may be a strawman argument since God only considers the righteous remnant of Jews as true Israel, but it is disconcerting whem the current administratio of the government of the United States seems to be the only group using the acronym ISIL, while everyone else, including the terrorist group itself, refer to it as either ISIS or simply IS.

I just saw your thread about ISIL, after I made these comments. It has been a fwe weeks since my last visit, so there was a lot to read through. It would have taken me all night to read through everything posted since the last tmie I was in the Forum.

Scary, but not a surprise. And it is not solely the Obama administration perpetrating all of this, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the CFR, TLC, and other groups that our political power is concentrated in are behind it.

"Report: Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood Infiltrated Obama Admin

Egyptian magazine claims that six Islamist activists who work with Obama are Muslim Brotherhood operatives.

An Egyptian magazine has claimed that six American Islamist activists who work with the Obama administration are Muslim Brotherhood operatives who enjoy strong influence over U.S. policy.

The December 22 story was published in Egypt's Rose El-Youssef magazine and was translated into English for the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT). The story suggests the six turned the White House "from a position hostile to Islamic groups and organizations in the world to the largest and most important supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood."

They didn't infiltrate the administration as much as  Obummer invited them in.

http://joemiller.us/2013/04/declaration-of-war-on-american-values-battalion-commander-tells-troops-that-patriots-christians-belong-to-hate-groups/

(Here is a link to the relevant email http://joemiller.us/2013/04/101st-battalion-commanders-outrageous-e-mail-to-subordinates-characterizing-traditionalists-as-haters/)

A combat battalion commander assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, sent an email out to several dozen subordinate officers and senior noncommissioned officers describing conservatives as members of hate groups.

The senior officer, seen in the YouTube below, apparently decided that his ignorant soldiers needed some political indoctrination regarding the Army’s new values, as decreed by Obama.

So, using the infamous Southern Poverty Law Center as a guide, the lieutenant colonel set out to educate.

Using the subject line of ‘Domestic Hate Groups,’ LTC Jack Rich warned his subordinate leaders that,

Many events have been taking place across the country â€" just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values.

Before identifying for his troops who the haters in America are, he makes it clear that his email is an action memo:

When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values â€" don’t just walk by â€" do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.

In other words, this misguided Army ‘leader’ is telling his junior officers that they are to actively intervene with any of their troops that they suspect has ‘hateful’ beliefs.

Once identified, the hater presumably will be forced to recant such beliefs.

Sound familiar? Turn back the clock to the Cold War years and you might mistake LTC Rich with a political commissar, the Soviet ideological officer who guarded military units against “harmful” beliefs.

So who exactly belongs to a hate group? Probably most conservatives. According to Commissar Rich and his communist buddies at the Southern Poverty Law Center, they include:

• members of the Christian right (like Focus on the Family’s former leader, James Dobson)

• anti-gay groups (those who oppose the “so-called homosexual agenda”)

• members of Patriot organizations (those “opposed to the ‘New World Order’”; those who believe that the “‘New World Order’ is imposing a global plan, called Agenda 21, to take away citizens’ property rights”; those who “believe that being well armed is a must”; those who fear “impending gun control or weapons confiscations, either by the government or international agencies”)

• anti-Muslim groups (those who “broadly defame Islam”; those who believe the “inherent danger to America posed by its Muslim-American community”, that Muslims are a “fifth column intent on undermining and eventually replacing American democracy and Western civilization with Islamic despotism”; those who “allege that Muslims are trying to subvert the rule of law by imposing on Americans their own Islamic legal system, Shariah law”)

• anti-illegal alien groups

Commissar Rich identifies the Family Research Council, American Family Association, United States Justice Foundation, Atlas Shrugs, Sharia Awareness Network, Bare Naked Islam, and many other organizations as hate groups.

Yes, the thought police have infected the U.S. Military. Never mind that troublesome First Amendment. Obama must be proud.

This is just another facet of the progressive left's attempt to rid the country of conservatives and evangelical Christians. They are hellbent on separating us from our jobs, and pushing us into a situation where we will have no impact on society. Some go so far as openly wishing us dead.

First I would like to say that I find the views here very enlightening and the historical facts behind it.
I do have a question as to
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Why would the moon be likened to the church when all through revelation and other places discussed here the church is likened to a candlestick?

I am asking this because of the lunar eclipse, meteor shower, solar eclipse this year. John Hagee has a good sermon on the four blood moons. There are a few other questions that i have with your reasoning here but all in all I find it very well thought out and reasonable.

Hello Fisher. Welcome  to the forum. To answer your question about the moon representing the church, we believe that is the case because just as the moon has no light of its' own, and can only reflect the light of the sun, so it is the same with the church. The body of Christ can only let the light of God shine though us. We cannot produce the light of the Gospel ourselves.
The vision in Revelation actually had two parts, because the scroll was written on the front and back. Jesus read the front side, which included the part about the candlesticks, and John read the back side, in which was the symbolism we are discussing.
Another passage in Revelation where the moon can be intrepreted to be the church is in chapter 12:
Revelation 12:1-6 “And there appeared a great wonder in
heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the
moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve
stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth,
and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another
wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon ,
having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon
his heads . And his tail
drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did
cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the
woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her
child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man
child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron :
and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
And the woman  fled into the wilderness, where
she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her
there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.”
The woman here is Israel, the 12 stars of the crown  are the 12 tribes of Israel, the sun is God the Father, the child is Christ, and the moon is the church. the moon is positioned under the woman's feet because, I think, Israel was the first people group to be chosen by God as His people, and the church first consisted of Jews who followed Jesus. Everyone who has come across Ellis' works has had questions as to how it all fits together, so just fire away.  :)

Hey guys - I don't comment often, but I've been through the same sort of stuff, except I was never really sold on the pre-trib rapture. When I found out the history of the futurist view, and that Darby also espoused a pre-trib view, that called into question the whole Great Tribulation at the end of time for me. Thus, it was an easy transition. I have recently joined a couple of Facebook Groups that promote a post-trib view, but most of the members are stuck in the futurist mindset, even though they recognise that the pre-trib rapture is false doctrine. When I showed them that the crucifixion of Christ and Dome of the Rock, etc. could be proven mathematically, I got responses like "mathematics=speculation" and "Pure speculation and manipulation of the simple, plain words of Scripture. All to fit a presupposed idea. smh (shaking my head)" They just can't see how the stuff going on in the world today lines right up with the prophecies. I even explained that my friend who discovered this went into it as a pre-trib/7year tribulation guy. Haven't had a direct response to that, but a couple explaining their futurist view. Telling them about the time, times, and halfa time was a whole lot of fun!Even today, someone discussed the future fulfillment in the Antichrist of Isaiah 14, which is telling the Jews that they will be freed from the Babylonian captivity and their captor punished.  This forum is the oly place anywhere that I have found other people who understand and agree with most of Ellis' teaching. We have a lonely path to walk, do we not. Blessings!

http://guardianlv.com/2014/03/putin-policies-aim-to-defend-christian-beliefs/

"In the past, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church that he would defend and protect Christianity and its followers. According to the representatives, he was concerned about the “urgent situation” facing Christians throughout the world, and vowed to use his power and influence to aid them in their fight against persecution.

According to the Russian Orthodox Church, a Christian is killed or is dying somewhere in the world every five minutes, as a direct result of following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christians have been under extreme duress in Afghanistan, Syria, and Egypt, countries where they have had large Christian populations for nearly 2000 years. These attacks have come as a result of extremist groups gaining great authority within the regions, and attempting to push out all “infidels” from the predominantly Muslim nations.

Metropolitan Hilarion, one of the heads of the Russian Orthodox Church presented this information to Putin, and asked for his assistance. Putin declared that he would provide defense of Christians throughout the world, as part of his overall foreign policy. He would defend Christians from persecution wherever they were.

Putin has taken the first steps in making this happen, by denying numerous U.N. resolutions demanding that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad abdicate his position as head of Syria. Al-Assad has a long standing record of supporting Christian churches in Syria, and there is a growing amount of violence against Christians and churches within areas that are now controlled by rebel factions.

Over the years Putin has made many statements expressing his “alarm” and “concern” at what is happening to Christians in Middle Eastern nations, as well as in North Africa. He has demanded that “infringements” upon the rights of minority faiths within these nations come to an end. President Putin’s policies have been aimed at defending Christians and their beliefs.

Russia has been under heavy scrutiny ever since a law was passed creating a propaganda ban against homosexuality. Western nations have been especially critical of Putin in general, for pushing the passage of this law, and U.S. journalists spent a great deal of time covering this issue during the recent Sochi Winter Olympics.

While there are other factors that came into play in creating the law, it is clear that Putin’s Christian upbringing, and belief in the faith, played a part in the decision to pass the law. At the time the law was passed, the Russian paper Pravda railed against the West on many fronts. They attacked homosexual church leaders, the ridiculing of Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin, and support of “immoral” behavior. Putin has been especially critical of U.S. courts that have recently overruled bans on gay marriage in several states. Putin points out that there must be respect for minority groups and their beliefs, but that there must also be “respect for the rights of the majority population.” He added that the rights of the majority cannot be questioned.

Putin has spoken openly of his faith, noting that most of Europe is rooted in Christianity, and that a denial of this is embarking on a path of “renouncing” their roots. Putin believes that Russia is the new leader in supporting Christian values and morals.

While many oppose his tactics, and the western media has done what they can to belittle and demean the Russian President, his message is gaining traction in Russia, and he is gaining support from religious leaders, especially in Europe. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, continues to vow to defend Christianity and Christians throughout the world."
Think maybe all believers should move to Russia?????
I don't trust Putin any further than I could throw him, but the sad thing is I trust our own President even less. But I hope he does back up his words with action. Not expecting Obama to pay any attention to it, because he hasn't so far.

I have joined a Facebook Group or two that are in aggreement with a post-tribulation gathering of the church. But many of the group members  are still indoctrinated in the futurist view, and cannot see much, if any, historical fulfillment, even when I plainly point it out to them. It is frustrating me to the point that I may leave the group and not waste my time showing them how the historical view is at least as valid as any other view out there. The group administrators' position is Pre-millenial post-trib, and their statement says that position is not debatable. So when I post, I am having to start with "my view", or "a historical view." Even historicists differ in what the symbolism represents. There are a few in there who agree with some of what I say, but not many. We walk a lonely road with the view that Islam is plying a major role in the time of the end, do we not!

Besides not liking reality shows, I begrudge the network's success at airing shows that barely cost them 2 nickles, compared to drama. But after seeing that interview at least, it seems  he at least has a good handle on the two distinctly different places. The world and the kingdom of God.
Peter, My wife got me to watching it. It is basically redneck comedy, which at times can be funny. Uncle Si is why I continue to watch it. He is funny without trying to be. Some of their shenanigans are re-enactments of things that  they did in the past, and others are things they see others doing and they try it with their own twist, such as the lawn-mower racing segment.  But Phil definitely has the handle on the difference between the world's ways and God's ways,as does everyone else on the show.

Islam - General / Re: Halal foods and products
January 10, 2014, 09:25:53 AM
Because of the passage in 1st Corinthians, if I consume halal meat, so what? The food we take into our bodies as no spiritual significance. Allah is an idol made of stone, so there is no spiritual or physical harm in eating meat that has been approved by Islamic ritual. The only real objection I have to the halal process is the inhumane way the creatures are killed, (which begs the question that is any method of killing humane, which is for another topic.) But if a brother would be offended by my eating halal meat in his presence, I would abstain until a later time.

General Discussion / Re: What Christians Do
January 06, 2014, 02:46:41 AM
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Teams respond to areas where natural disasters have occurred. In the aftermath of Katrina, they supplied food and water to workers and residents who lost their supply, and did far more reconstruction and assistance than FEMA even thought about. Same with last year's hurricane in New York City, which name escapes me at the moment. They were on the scene in Tuscaloosa and other areas hit by the 2011 and 2012 tornados, and have also gone out of the country to areas where their services were needed.

You know, it is funny that you should post that.  I was reading about how offended people were by the vulgarity of the words used by Phil, and the bluntness of his speech.  He referenced the words anus and vagina.  This one article, in particular, had the following to say:

"...but worshipers in the congregations of Rome and Corinth did not have to put hands over the ears of their children when Paul’s letter was read to their church..."

To which I responded:

The Bible tells stories of rape, incest, murder, speaks of beastiality, women's breasts, sexual intercourse, bloody discharge after consummation as proof of virginity, and other things. People were stoned in front of the assembly, burned up by fire, swallowed by the earth, and many many other things... aren't we being just a bit over zealous with the whole covering of the children's ears thing?

The sad thing is they are complaining about Phil's use of medical terminology, when out of their own tongue probably comes far worse terms for those anatomical structures.

Hey Mike, the reason your font didn't bold, is that those are tags for a different HTML than this forum. It can get the forum into trouble. At one point I was copy and pasting posts I made in another forum into this one. Everything came out just fine until......weeks later I did a routine testing of the database and it wouldn't upload. After all the DDoS and weeks with defective database back when I was desperate. Then I remembered the posts I had entered, removed the tags, and downloaded the database. It tested just fine after that. I've been concerned about foreign tags ever since. I removed them from this quoted post and replaced them with . It would be good if you could remove them from yours.
I was just now looking for an edit button, and could not find one. If you can go in and delete the tags as admin, you are welcome to do so. It had been a while since I had posted and I forgot the tags for this forum.

I'd never heard that before.  What a wicked, wicked man.

QuoteWasn't Obama basically elected by selfish voters who wanted money to be confiscated from their fellow citizens to pay for their own health care and other government largesse, and elected by the pro-abortion lobby, GBLT champions, Marxists/socialists and such? Elected by the most selfish and immoral generation in the history of the Republic, that cares not a whit that the bills for this bloated Marxist nanny State, are being paid by stealing the wealth of future generations.
Oh, snap!
To clarify my last reply, It is my opinion that God allowed Obama to be elected president  because the warning of 9/11 was not heeded by the Christians of our nation. Instead, we reacted the same way that Israel did after the Assyrian invasion. It was a defiant reaction, instead of an humbling of spirit, which is what I believe God was looking for in both situations. What Obama, his handlers (Soros, Jarrett, etc.)and supporters are doing to this nation is far worse than the destruction that 9/11 caused. In my humble opinion, many people who call themselves Christians, and I include myself, allowed the world to creep into our lives, and some time ago stopped being the salt and light that was needed for this nation to continue to be a nation guided by Judeo-Christian principles. It began in 1948 when the Bible was taken out of schools. Now we have same-sex marriages in a growing number of states, abortion is being promoted like it never has been before. Most of our people no longer believe in absolute truth, and this includes a large number of church members. As a group, we have not heeded these words of God: "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and I will heal their land."

I asked the Lord to show me what prophecy meant so that I could understand it.  Since I read his (Ellis') books, it started to come into focus.  That was the early days.  Today, I have a real deep understanding of where we are and what things mean.  However, there is always room for improvement! :P ;)

Bistabuster, I had long sensed that the futurist view and pre-trib rapture theory wasn't quite right, but until I read Ellis' work, I wasn't sure what the prophecies meant. I was more partial preterist for a while, then decided it didn't really matter, since what was gonna happen was gonna happen. But now my understanding is more clear than ever, and while the prospect of our nation falling and what it means for me and my family is scary, God is still in control. There are still many believers who simply cannot see that persecution is coming here at the hands of our government and Islam. It may be that they are afraid to look at this prospect, so pre-trib rapture belief is a much safer place to be. It's like someone facing a problem, and thinking that by ignoring it, it will go away.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2 Cor 11:14 (KJV)

I don't think you read the part where I said he told me to examine my beliefs and search out the truth.

Will Satan ever tell anybody to "examine your beliefs and search out the truth because the truth stands out distinct from error.  The truth will always prove itself to be true."??

It is obvious you were already doubting your faith, or you would not have had the dream in the first place. So in a time of weakness, you were attacked by Satan. Satan will use partial truth to get to us. The giveaway for me is the quoting of the Qur'an in your dream.
